Package Contents
Upon opening your package, please ensure all items are present and in good condition:
- 1 x RCYAGO YY-400 Multi-function Meter
- 3 x pH Buffer Powder packets (for calibration)
- 1 x User Manual

Setup
1. Battery Installation
The YY-400 meter requires 3 x 1.5V LR44 button batteries (not included). To install or replace batteries:
- Unscrew the battery compartment cap located at the top of the meter.
- Insert the three LR44 batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Securely screw the cap back on.

2. Probe Attachment (if applicable)
The YY-400 features a detachable probe design, which helps prevent accidental damage and allows for easy replacement. To attach or detach the probe:
- Gently twist the protective cap to remove it.
- Align the probe's connector with the meter's socket.
- Push and twist gently until the probe is securely in place.

3. Initial Calibration (pH)
The product is calibrated before leaving the factory. However, for optimal accuracy, especially after prolonged storage or if readings seem inaccurate, pH calibration is recommended. The YY-400 supports 1-point, 2-point, or 3-point automatic calibration.
- Prepare the pH buffer solutions (e.g., pH 4.00, pH 6.86, pH 9.18) by dissolving the provided powder packets in 250ml of distilled water each.
- Turn on the meter.
- Immerse the electrode into the pH 4.00 buffer solution.
- Press and hold the "CAL" button for 5 seconds until the display flashes "CAL" and then the pH value. The meter will automatically recognize the solution and complete the calibration (flashing 3 times).
- Rinse the electrode with distilled water.
- Repeat steps 3-5 for pH 6.86 and pH 9.18 solutions if performing a 3-point calibration.
Operating Instructions
1. Power On/Off
Press the power button (usually marked with a power symbol) to turn the meter on or off.
2. Taking Measurements
- Remove the protective cap from the electrode.
- Rinse the electrode with distilled water before each use.
- Immerse the electrode into the sample solution, ensuring the liquid level is below the maximum immersion line.
- Gently stir the meter and wait for the reading to stabilize on the LCD display.
- The meter features automatic temperature compensation (ATC) from 0-60℃, ensuring accurate readings regardless of temperature fluctuations.
- After measurement, press the "HOLD/TEMP" button to hold the current reading on the screen. Press again to release.
- Rinse the electrode with distilled water and replace the protective cap after use.
3. Switching Measurement Modes
The YY-400 can measure PH, ORP, H2 (ppb/ppm), and Temperature. To switch between modes:
- Press the "MODE/CAL" button repeatedly to cycle through the different measurement parameters (PH, ORP/mV, H2/ppb, H2/ppm).

4. Understanding ORP Readings
ORP (Oxidation-Reduction Potential) indicates the water's ability to oxidize or reduce contaminants. Higher positive ORP values indicate greater oxidizing potential, while negative values indicate reducing potential.
- Freshwater fish tank ORP: approximately 230-260mV.
- Seawater fish tank ORP: approximately 350-450mV.

5. Understanding pH Readings
pH measures the acidity or alkalinity of water. A pH of 7 is neutral, below 7 is acidic, and above 7 is alkaline.

6. Automatic Shutdown
The meter will automatically shut down after 5 minutes of inactivity to conserve battery life.
7. Waterproof Rating
The YY-400 is IP67 waterproof, meaning it is protected against dust penetration and can withstand short periods of immersion in water.

Maintenance
1. Electrode Cleaning and Storage
After each use, always wash the electrode with pure water (distilled or deionized water) and gently wipe it dry. Replace the protective cap to prevent damage and keep the electrode moist. Proper cleaning and storage are crucial for maintaining electrode accuracy and lifespan.
2. Probe Replacement
If the probe becomes damaged or its performance degrades significantly, it can be replaced due to its detachable design. Refer to the "Probe Attachment" section under Setup for instructions on detaching and attaching a new probe.
Troubleshooting
Inaccurate Readings or Calibration Failure
- Check Calibration: Ensure the meter is calibrated regularly, especially if it hasn't been used for a while or if you suspect inaccurate readings. Use fresh buffer solutions.
- Electrode Condition: A dirty or dry electrode can lead to inaccurate readings. Clean the electrode thoroughly with pure water. If the electrode is old or damaged, consider replacing it.
- Buffer Solution Quality: Ensure your pH buffer powders are fresh and mixed correctly with distilled water. Expired or contaminated buffer solutions will lead to incorrect calibration.
- Temperature: While the meter has ATC, extreme temperature differences between the meter and the sample can affect initial stability. Allow the meter to equilibrate with the sample temperature.
- Battery Level: Low battery can affect performance. Replace batteries if the display is dim or erratic.
If the instrument does not recognize the solution during calibration, or if issues persist after troubleshooting, please contact your supplier for further assistance.

User Tips
- Regular Calibration: For the most accurate pH readings, calibrate your meter regularly, especially if you are testing a wide range of pH values or if the meter has been stored for an extended period.
- Proper Cleaning: Always rinse the electrode with distilled or deionized water after each use to prevent contamination and ensure longevity. Never use tap water for rinsing as it can leave mineral deposits.
- Storage: Store the electrode with its protective cap on, ideally with a few drops of electrode storage solution or pH 4.00 buffer solution inside the cap to keep the sensor moist. Avoid storing it dry.
- Battery Check: Keep spare LR44 batteries on hand. A low battery can lead to unstable or inaccurate readings.
- Avoid Disassembly: Do not attempt to disassemble the meter without authorization, as this may void any warranty and could damage the device.
