5. Setup and Pairing

Follow these steps to connect your V6C Pro intercom units for communication.

5.1 Initial Pairing (Two Units)

To establish a connection between two V6C Pro units (e.g., Unit 1 and Unit 2):

  1. Step 1: Enter Pairing Mode. With both units off, connect Unit 1 with Unit 2 (conceptually, meaning they are the two units you want to pair). Press and hold the Power button (Rider A button) on both Unit 1 and Unit 2 for approximately 5 seconds until their indicator lights flash red and blue alternately.
  2. Step 2: Initiate Pairing. Briefly press the Power button (Rider A button) on Unit 1 once. The units will attempt to connect.
  3. Step 3: Confirm Connection. Once the indicator light on Unit 2 also turns blue (or both flash blue in rhythm), the pairing is successful. Communication will now be available between the two devices.

5.2 Connecting Multiple Units (Up to 6 Riders)

The V6C Pro supports connecting up to 6 people in a large group, with full-duplex communication between any 2 of them at a time. To connect additional V6C Pro units (e.g., Unit 3, Unit 4, Unit 5, Unit 6) to the initial paired group, repeat the pairing method described above. When pairing additional units, use the corresponding Rider buttons (B, C, D, E) on the main unit (Unit 1) instead of the Power button (Rider A).

  • Water Resistance: The V6C Pro is IP65 waterproof, meaning it is protected against dust and low-pressure water jets. It can be used in all weather conditions. However, to prevent water ingress, ensure the headset jack is fully inserted into the unit.
  • Cleaning: Wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your V6C Pro, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Device not powering on:
    • Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the unit to the charger and check if the red indicator light appears.
    • Press and hold the Power button (Rider A) for at least 2 seconds.
  • Cannot pair units:
    • Ensure both units are in pairing mode (red and blue indicator lights flashing alternately).
    • Make sure no other Bluetooth devices are interfering with the pairing process.
    • Try deleting the pairing memory on both units (refer to Section 6.5) and then repeat the pairing steps.
    • Confirm that the units are within the effective pairing range.
  • No sound or poor audio quality:
    • Check the volume level on both the intercom unit and your connected phone/GPS.
    • Ensure the headset is securely plugged into the headphone jack.
    • Verify that the units are properly paired and connected.
    • Move closer to the other intercom unit to ensure you are within range.
  • Phone calls not answering automatically:
    • Ensure your mobile phone is successfully paired and connected to the V6C Pro.
    • Check your phone's Bluetooth settings to ensure it allows automatic answering for connected devices if applicable.
  • Charging issues:
    • Use the original charging cable and a standard 5V 0.5-2A USB charger.
    • Check if the charging cable is securely connected to both the unit and the power source.
    • Ensure the charging port on the unit is clean and free of debris.

9. User Tips

Based on common user inquiries and experiences, here are some tips for using your V6C Pro intercom:

  • Full-Duplex Communication: While the V6C Pro can connect up to 6 riders, remember that it only supports full-duplex (simultaneous two-way) communication between two people at a time. For larger groups, users will need to take turns speaking or switch between active pairs.
  • Hands-Free Operation: The intercom is designed for hands-free use, especially for motorcycle riders and referees. The microphones are generally active during an intercom connection, eliminating the need for a 'push-to-talk' button for active conversations. Phone calls are also answered automatically after a short delay.
  • Optimal Range: For the best intercom experience, especially in environments with potential interference, try to maintain a clear line of sight between the units. While the maximum range is up to 1200m in undisturbed environments, a practical range of 800m is more realistic for active use between two referees or riders.
  • Safety First: When using the device while riding a motorcycle, prioritize safety. Avoid excessive button pressing and ensure you maintain awareness of your surroundings.
