The GEARELEC DK02 is a state-of-the-art motorcycle helmet headset designed to enhance your riding experience with seamless communication and entertainment. Featuring Bluetooth 5.2 technology, IPX7 waterproofing, and a long-lasting 2800mAh battery, this headset allows for hands-free calls, music playback, and voice assistant activation. It also includes customizable ambient lighting for added style and visibility.

Important Note: This device functions as a Bluetooth headset for calls and music and does NOT support intercom communication between riders.

5. Setup Instructions

5.1 Mounting the Bluetooth Unit

Identify a suitable location on the side of your helmet for the Bluetooth unit.
Attach the mounting clip or adhesive pad (included in the accessory kit) to the helmet. Ensure the surface is clean and dry for optimal adhesion.
Press the Bluetooth unit firmly onto the mounted clip or adhesive pad until it is fixed securely in place.
Connect the headset speakers and microphone to the appropriate ports on the Bluetooth unit.
Route the speaker and microphone wires neatly inside the helmet, ensuring they do not interfere with helmet padding or your comfort. Position the speakers inside the ear pockets and the microphone near your mouth.

5.2 Bluetooth Pairing with Your Phone

Ensure the GEARELEC DK02 headset is powered off.
Press and hold the Power/Play button (usually the main central button) until the indicator light flashes, indicating pairing mode.
On your mobile phone, go to Bluetooth settings and turn on Bluetooth.
Search for available devices and select "DK02" from the list.
Once connected, the indicator light on the headset will change, and you will hear a confirmation tone.

6. Operating Instructions

Refer to Figure 4.1 for button locations.

Power On/Off: Press and hold the Power/Play button.
Play/Pause Music: Short press the Power/Play button.
Volume Up: Short press the '+' button.
Volume Down: Short press the '-' button.
Next Song: Long press the '+' button.
Previous Song: Long press the '-' button.
Answer Call: Short press the Phone button.
Reject Call: Long press the Phone button for 3 seconds.
Activate Voice Assistant: Double-tap the '-' (volume down) button.
Ambient Light Adjustment: Short press the Ambient Light Color Adjustment button to cycle through colors/modes.

7. Maintenance

Cleaning: Wipe the headset unit and speakers with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
Water Exposure: While IPX7 waterproof, avoid prolonged submersion. Ensure the charging port cover is securely closed when not charging, especially in wet conditions.
Storage: Store the headset in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Charge the device regularly, even if not in use for extended periods.
Cable Care: Handle the speaker and microphone cables gently to prevent damage. Avoid sharp bends or excessive pulling.

8. Troubleshooting

Q: The headset does not power on.: A: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the headset to a power source using the USB Type-C cable and allow it to charge for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power it on again.
Q: Cannot pair the headset with my phone.: A: Make sure the headset is in pairing mode (indicator light flashing). Turn off and on your phone's Bluetooth. Ensure the headset is not already connected to another device. Try restarting both the headset and your phone.
Q: No sound or low volume.: A: Check the volume levels on both the headset and your phone. Ensure the speakers are correctly positioned in your helmet and connected to the headset unit. Verify that the headset is properly paired with your phone.

Q: Can I use this headset as an intercom to talk to another rider?: A: No, the GEARELEC DK02 is a Bluetooth headset for connecting to a mobile phone for calls and music. It does not have an intercom function for direct communication between two headsets.

For optimal sound quality and call clarity, ensure the speakers are aligned with your ears and the microphone is close to your mouth.
