5. Setup

5.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, ensure the device is fully charged. Connect the provided Type-C USB cable to the device's USB port and to a suitable USB power adapter (not included). The battery indicator on the display will show charging status. A full charge ensures optimal performance and battery life.

5.2 Powering On/Off

Press and hold the Power Button (refer to Figure 2) for a few seconds to turn the device on or off.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Switching Between Modes

Press the "IR Camera / Multimeter Switch Button" (refer to Figure 2) to toggle between the thermal imaging mode and the digital multimeter mode.

6.2 Multimeter Operation

In multimeter mode, the display shows various measurement options. Use the resistive touch screen to select the desired function (refer to Figure 3).

  • Voltage Measurement (DC/AC): Select V/DC or V/AC. Connect the test leads to the circuit to measure voltage.
  • Resistance Measurement (Ω): Select Ω. Connect the test leads across the component to measure resistance.
  • Capacitance Measurement: Select the Capacitor icon. Connect the test leads to the capacitor.
  • Diode Test: Select the Diode icon. Connect the test leads to the diode to check its forward voltage drop.
  • Continuity Test: Select the Continuity icon. Connect the test leads to the circuit to check for continuity (a beep indicates continuity).
  • Frequency / Duty Cycle: Use the "Multimeter Frequency / Duty Cycle Switch Button" to toggle between these measurements.
  • NCV Test: Non-Contact Voltage test. Select NCV to detect AC voltage without direct contact.
  • Hold Function: Press the "Hold / Range Button" to freeze the current reading on the display. Press again to release.
  • Range Selection: In manual range mode, press the "Hold / Range Button" to cycle through available ranges.

6.3 Thermal Imager Operation

In thermal imaging mode, the device displays a thermal map of the environment. (Refer to Figure 4 for display elements).

  • Viewing Thermal Images: Point the camera lens towards the area of interest. The display will show temperature distribution.
  • Color Palettes: The MT13S offers five color palettes to visualize temperature differences. Access these through the system settings or dedicated menu.

    • Iron Red: Good for general temperature distribution.
    • Rainbow: Provides a wide spectrum of colors for subtle temperature changes.
    • Fusion: Blends visual and thermal images.
    • White Heat: Hotter areas appear white.
    • White Heat Highlights: Similar to White Heat, with enhanced highlighting of hot spots.
  • Adjusting Emissivity: Emissivity (0.1-0.99, default 0.95) can be adjusted in the settings to improve temperature measurement accuracy for different materials.
  • Taking Photos: Press the "Take Photos" button (refer to Figure 4) to capture the current thermal image. Images are saved in BMP format to the internal storage (3.5MB capacity).
  • Touch Screen Interaction: The 2.8-inch resistive touch screen allows for intuitive navigation through menus and settings.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth with mild detergent can be used, ensuring no liquid enters the device. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures (-20℃ to 60℃).
  • Battery Care: For prolonged storage, charge the battery to approximately 50% every three months to maintain battery health.
  • Calibration: While the device is factory calibrated, if you suspect inaccuracies, contact customer support for potential recalibration services.
