1. Introduction
The Seplos Smart BMS 3.0 is an advanced Battery Management System designed for 16-series (16S) LiFePO4 and Li-ion battery packs. It offers robust protection, precise monitoring, and versatile communication options including Bluetooth, RS485, and CAN. This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient installation, operation, and maintenance of your Seplos Smart BMS 3.0.

2. Important Safety Information
Please read and understand all safety instructions before operating the BMS. Failure to follow these instructions may result in product damage, property damage, or serious injury.

- BMS is professional electronics; misoperations will result in product damage. Always follow instructions carefully.
- Do NOT update firmware without permission from Deligreencs technicians. Unauthorized updates can cause irreversible damage and void warranty.
- The BMS must only be used with a battery pack of the same string count (e.g., 16S).
- NCM (Nickel Cobalt Manganese) and LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) BMS units are not universal and are incompatible. Do NOT mix use them.
- Do NOT reversely connect the B- (battery negative) and P- (load/charge negative) cables of the BMS.
- Ensure all connections are secure and properly insulated to prevent short circuits.
- Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when working with batteries and electrical components.

3.2 Wiring Instructions
The Seplos BMS 3.0 comes in different types, primarily Type A with integrated communication ports and lights, and variants with split communication and light boards. Ensure you have the correct type for your application.

- Connect Balance Wires: Carefully connect the provided balance wires to each cell of your battery pack, ensuring correct polarity and sequence (B0, B1, B2... B16). Start from the negative terminal (B0) and proceed upwards.
- Connect Main Power Cables: Connect the main battery negative (B-) to the designated terminal on the BMS. Connect the main load/charge negative (P-) to its respective terminal.
- Connect Temperature Sensors: If included, connect temperature sensors to the battery cells and the BMS as instructed to monitor battery temperature.
- Connect Communication Cables: For RS485 or CAN communication, connect the appropriate cables to the designated ports on the BMS and your inverter/monitoring device.
- Connect LCD Display (Optional): If using an external LCD display, connect it to the dedicated port on the BMS.
- Final Power Connection: After all connections are verified, connect the main battery positive (B+) to the system.
Always double-check all wiring connections before applying power to prevent damage to the BMS or battery pack.
3.3 Active Balancer Integration
The Seplos 2A Active Balancer can be used separately or integrated with the Seplos BMS 3.0 for enhanced cell balancing.

Follow the specific wiring diagram provided with your active balancer for correct connection to the battery cells and the BMS.
4. Operation
4.1 Bluetooth Communication
The Seplos Smart BMS 3.0 supports Bluetooth communication for monitoring and parameter adjustment via a mobile application (compatible with Apple/Android systems). The app supports both Chinese and English languages.

In a parallel setup, Bluetooth allows viewing data for each individual battery pack. The communication protocol can also be switched via Bluetooth.
4.2 Software Interface (PC)
For detailed monitoring and parameter configuration, the BMS can be connected to a PC. Seplos provides dedicated software:
- Battery Studio: BMS 3.0 software interface for comprehensive control.
- Battery Monitor: BMS 2.0 software interface.

Note: BMS 2.0 and BMS 3.0 cannot be used in parallel, and each BMS version requires its corresponding software.
4.3 Inverter Compatibility
The Seplos Smart BMS 3.0 is designed to be compatible with a wide range of inverters, including popular brands like Pylontech, Growatt, SRNE, Deye, Bluesun, Sako, Megarevo, Must, Sorotec, Sumry, Sacolar, Victron Energy, GT, Sofar, Goodwe, and others. Customization options are available for specific inverter protocols.

4.4 Application Areas
The Seplos Smart BMS 3.0 is suitable for various energy storage applications:
- Energy storage systems
- Home energy storage solutions
- DIY battery pack kits

5. Maintenance
- Regular Inspection: Periodically check all wiring connections for tightness and signs of corrosion or damage.
- Cleanliness: Keep the BMS and surrounding area clean and free from dust and debris. Use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning.
- Environmental Conditions: Ensure the BMS operates within its specified temperature and humidity ranges to prolong its lifespan.
- Firmware Updates: Only perform firmware updates when instructed by Deligreencs technical support. Incorrect updates can lead to system failure.
6. Troubleshooting
This section provides solutions to common issues. For complex problems, contact technical support.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| BMS not powering on | Incorrect wiring, main power not connected, or internal fault. | Verify all power connections (B-, P+, B+). Check for reverse polarity. Ensure battery voltage is within operating range. |
| No Bluetooth connection | Bluetooth module off, app issues, or distance. | Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on the BMS (if applicable) and your mobile device. Restart the app. Move closer to the BMS. |
| Cell voltage imbalance | Balance wires incorrectly connected, or cells are severely out of balance. | Check balance wire connections for correct sequence and contact. Allow the active balancer to work over time. If severe, manual balancing may be required by a professional. |
| Over-current/Short-circuit protection triggered | Excessive load, short circuit in the system. | Reduce load. Identify and remove any short circuits. The BMS should automatically reset after the fault is cleared. |
| BMS not communicating with inverter | Incorrect communication protocol, wiring, or settings. | Verify RS485/CAN wiring. Ensure the correct communication protocol is selected on both the BMS and the inverter. Check baud rates. |
