5. Setup Instructions

Setting up your TOMZN TOSVA-16 protector is straightforward:

  1. Plug In: Insert the TOSVA-16 protector into a standard EU wall socket.
  2. Connect Appliance: Plug your electrical appliance into the socket on the front of the TOSVA-16 protector.
  3. Power On: Press the power button on the protector to turn it on. The LED display will illuminate, showing the current voltage and current.

6. Operating Instructions

Basic Operation:

  • Power On/Off: Press the power button (circular button with power symbol) to turn the device on or off.
  • Display: The top LED displays voltage (V), and the bottom LED displays current (A).
  • Protection Status: The 'POWER' indicator light shows the operational status.

The TOSVA-16 allows you to customize various protection parameters. Follow these steps to enter and adjust settings:

  1. Enter Setting Mode: Long press the 'SET' button for more than 3 seconds. The display will show 'A1'.
  2. Navigate Parameters: Use the 'UP' and 'DOWN' arrow buttons to cycle through the parameters (A1 to A15).
  3. Adjust Value: When the desired parameter (e.g., A1) is displayed, press the 'SET' button briefly. The value will start flashing. Use the 'UP' and 'DOWN' arrow buttons to adjust the value.
  4. Confirm Value: Press the 'SET' button again to confirm the adjusted value and move to the next parameter, or to save the current parameter's value.
  5. Exit Setting Mode: Long press the 'SET' button to exit the setting mode and save all changes.

    • Range: 1-500 seconds
  • A2: Over-voltage protection value (V)
    • Range: 100-300V or OFF (default: 270V)
    • Note: Setting above 300V will disable over-voltage protection.

    • Range: 95-295V (default: 265V)
  • A4: Over-voltage recovery delay time (S)
    • Range: 1-500 seconds (default: 30s)
  • A5: Over-voltage protection action time (S)
    • Range: 0.1-30 seconds (default: 0.5s)
  • A6: Under-voltage protection value (V)
    • Range: OFF-80-210V (default: 170V)
    • Note: Setting below 140V will disable under-voltage protection.
  • A7: Under-voltage recovery value (V)
    • Range: 85-215V (default: 175V)
  • A8: Under-voltage recovery delay time (S)
    • Range: 1-500 seconds (default: 30s)
  • A9: Under-voltage protection action time (S)
    • Range: 0.1-30 seconds (default: 0.5s)

Additional Functions:

  • Restore Factory Settings: Long press the 'DOWN' button for more than 12 seconds.
  • Fault Inquiry: Long press the 'UP' button for more than 12 seconds to query the last fault recorded.
  • Manual Switch: The protection function can be turned off by pressing the power key.

7. Maintenance

The TOMZN TOSVA-16 requires minimal maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

  • Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Inspection: Periodically check the plug and socket for any signs of damage, wear, or loose connections.

8. Troubleshooting

    • Review your set protection parameters (A2, A6, A10). They might be set too sensitively for your electrical environment or appliance.
    • Use the 'Fault Inquiry' function (long press UP button for >12s) to identify the type of fault that is occurring.
    • Consider the power requirements of your appliance; it might be drawing current close to or exceeding the set over-current limit.
  • Display not working or showing incorrect values:
    • Try resetting the device by unplugging and re-plugging it.
    • If values appear incorrect, consider using the voltage/current calibration functions (A13, A15) if you have a known reference.
    • Restore factory settings (long press DOWN button for >12s) if calibration issues persist.
