7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues, please refer to the solutions below. If the problem persists, contact customer support at support@bolinia.com.
7.1. Black Screen or No Signal
- Ensure you are using the original accessories (cables and charger). Note that Type-C 3.0 Male to Type-C cables may not support video signal transmission.
- Plug the wall charger into the monitor's Type-C port for power. Wait for the screen to display "no signal", then connect the USB-C cable to another Type-C port or an HDMI cable to the MiniHDMI port for video signal.
- For single Type-C connections (power and display), some devices (e.g., HP Elitebook, Acer Aspire) may not support video output and only charge. Contact support to confirm device compatibility.
- In Windows, set the display mode to "Extend".
- Test the monitor with other devices to check if it functions correctly.
7.2. Monitor Keeps Flashing/Restarting
- This issue is usually caused by insufficient power supply.
- If the monitor and your device are connected by a single Type-C cable, some laptops and phones may not provide enough power. Plug a wall charger into the monitor's Type-C port for additional power.
7.3. Type-C to Type-C 3.0 Male Cable Displays "No Signal"
Confirm that the Type-C interface of your device is version 3.1 or higher, as older versions may not support video output.
7.4. Android Phone with Type-C Port Does Not Work
- Phones may not provide enough power for the monitor. Plug a wall charger into the monitor's Type-C port, then connect the phone to another Type-C port on the monitor.
- Some phones (e.g., Google Pixel) do not support video output via Type-C and only charge. An Android to HDTV cable may be required to mirror the screen.
7.5. Connecting to Laptops without HDMI (e.g., Microsoft Surface Pro, Surface Book, HP EliteBook)
A (mini) DisplayPort to HDMI adapter is required to connect the monitor to these devices.
7.6. Monitor Stand is Flimsy
The monitor features an invisible shelf design that can be adjusted from 0-180 degrees. Ensure it is properly extended and positioned for stability.

Image: Invisible shelf design for adjustable monitor angle.
7.7. Can the Monitor Work with Apple iPhone?
Yes, a Lightning to HDMI adapter is required for iPhone to work with the monitor.
7.8. Can the Monitor Work with iPad?
If your iPad has a Type-C port, the monitor will work well with a single Type-C cable. For iPads with a Lightning port, a Lightning to HDMI adapter is required.
7.9. How to Save Brightness Settings?
The monitor automatically saves all settings when using a Type-C or HDMI connection for display. If a single Type-C connection for power and display cannot provide enough power, the monitor will automatically reset the brightness to 30.
8. User Tips
- Always use external power: For optimal performance and to prevent screen flickering or blackouts, always connect the monitor to an external power source using the provided wall charger, especially when connecting to devices that may not supply sufficient power (e.g., some phones, Switch).
- Check Type-C compatibility: If using a Type-C connection, ensure your device's Type-C port supports video output (DisplayPort Alternate Mode) and is at least version 3.1. Some Type-C ports are for charging only.
- Consider adapters for Apple devices: iPhones and iPads with Lightning ports will require a Lightning to HDMI adapter for display functionality.
- Adjust the stand for stability: The integrated stand is designed to be adjustable. Ensure it is fully extended and positioned correctly for maximum stability.
