6. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your WAVLINK device:

  • Outdoor AX1800 (WN573HX1): The IP67 weatherproof enclosure and 15kV ESD protection are designed to withstand harsh outdoor conditions. Regularly check for any physical damage to the casing or antennas. Ensure all cable connections are secure and waterproof seals are intact.
  • Indoor Models: These devices feature optimal thermal performance with super heat dissipation designs. Ensure they are placed in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight or heat sources, to prevent overheating.
  • Firmware Updates: Regularly check for and install the latest firmware updates through the Cloud APP or web management interface. Firmware updates often include performance improvements, security patches, and new features.
  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol sprays.

7. Troubleshooting

Here are solutions to common issues you might encounter:

  • No Internet Connection:
    • Check all cable connections (Ethernet, power) to ensure they are secure.
    • Verify that your modem is working correctly.
    • Restart your router and modem.
    • Log in to the web management page to check your WAN settings (PPPoE, Dynamic IP, Static IP).
  • Weak Wi-Fi Signal or Dead Zones:
    • For Outdoor AX1800, ensure it is mounted at an optimal height (2-3 meters above ground) and the antennas are correctly oriented.
    • For Indoor models, reposition the router to a central location, away from obstructions and interference sources (e.g., microwaves, cordless phones).
    • Utilize the Mesh feature to expand coverage with additional WAVLINK mesh devices.
    • The device features technologies like Beamforming and LDPC Error Correction to improve signal quality and remove dead corners.
  • Slow Network Speed or Congestion:
    • Ensure your internet service provider (ISP) is delivering the expected speeds.
    • Reduce the number of connected devices or prioritize critical devices using QoS (Quality of Service) settings in the router's web interface.
    • The OFDMA and MU-MIMO technologies help reduce network congestion and improve efficiency for multiple devices.
    • For Indoor AX1800/AX3000, press the TURBO button to clear cache and optimize the network.
  • Unable to Access Web Management Page:
    • Ensure your device is connected to the router's Wi-Fi or via an Ethernet cable to a LAN port.
    • Verify you are using the correct IP address (e.g., 192.168.10.1) or domain (wavlogin.link).
    • Clear your browser's cache or try a different browser.
  • Forgotten Wi-Fi Password or Login Password:
    • You can reset the router to factory default settings by pressing and holding the RESET button for 6 seconds (for AX3000) or as indicated in your Quick Start Guide. This will erase all custom settings, and you will need to reconfigure the router.

8. User Tips

  • Power Supply: Always use the provided power adapter. For the Outdoor AX1800, ensure the PoE converter is installed indoors as it is not waterproof.
  • Optimal Placement: For outdoor units, consider mounting them high enough to clear obstructions and maximize signal reach. For indoor units, a central location is usually best.
  • Mesh Networking: If you have multiple WAVLINK mesh-compatible devices, leverage the "Everything Mesh" technology for seamless roaming and extended coverage with a single Wi-Fi name. The Outdoor WN573HX1 supports interconnection with WN531AX2, WN583AX1, and other WN573HX1 units for mesh mode.
  • Guest Network: Utilize the guest network feature for visitors to keep your main network secure.
  • Security: Regularly update your Wi-Fi password and use strong, unique passwords. The WPA3 security protocol offers enhanced protection.
  • Device Battery Life: The Target Wakeup Time (TWT) technology in WiFi 6 routers can help save battery life for connected devices by scheduling when they wake up to send or receive data.
