5. Setup
5.1. Charging the Device
Before first use, fully charge your G-MAX intercom. Connect the provided USB C charging cable to the headset/charging port on the device and plug the other end into a 5V 1A USB power adapter (not included). The LED display will indicate charging status.
5.2. Installing on Helmet
The G-MAX intercom is suitable for most motorcycle helmets, including full-face and flip-up helmets.

- Choose the appropriate mount (clip or adhesive) for your helmet type.
- Attach the mount securely to the side of your helmet. Ensure it is positioned where the intercom unit will not obstruct your vision or movement.
- Slide the G-MAX intercom unit onto the mount until it clicks into place.
5.3. Installing Speakers and Microphone
- Attach the speakers inside your helmet's ear pockets using the provided Velcro pads. Ensure they are positioned directly over your ears for optimal sound.
- Select either the hard microphone (for open-face/flip-up helmets) or the soft microphone (for full-face helmets).
- Connect the chosen microphone to the headset/charging port on the G-MAX unit.
- Route the microphone cable and speaker cables neatly within the helmet lining to avoid interference and ensure comfort.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1. Power On/Off
- Power On: Slide the Power Button to the 'On' position. The LED display will light up, and you will hear a power-on prompt.
- Power Off: Slide the Power Button to the 'Off' position. The LED display will turn off, and you will hear a power-off prompt.
6.2. Bluetooth Pairing (Phone)
- Ensure the G-MAX is powered on and in standby mode (indicated on the LCD display).
- On your mobile phone, enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
- Select "GEARELEC G-MAX" from the list of devices.
- Once paired, the Bluetooth icon on the G-MAX LCD display will become solid.
- The G-MAX supports connection to two phones simultaneously.
6.3. Intercom Communication (Group Pairing)
The G-MAX supports full-duplex intercom communication for 2-6 riders within a range of up to 2000 meters (actual range 300-800 meters between 2 riders in real environments).

- Ensure all G-MAX units are powered on and within range.
- Press and hold the Intercom Button on your unit until it enters pairing mode (refer to the LCD display for "PAIRING" status).
- Repeat this step for all units you wish to connect.
- The units will automatically search and connect to each other. Once connected, the intercom icon on the LCD display will become solid.
- To initiate an intercom call, briefly press the Intercom Button. To end, press it again.
6.4. Music Playback and Sharing
Once paired with your phone, you can play music. The G-MAX also supports music sharing with other compatible intercoms on the same platform.

- Play/Pause: Briefly press the Multifunction Button.
- Next Track: Briefly press the '+' Button.

6.5. FM Radio
The G-MAX includes an FM radio function to listen to broadcast news and other information during your ride.

- Turn On/Off FM Radio: Press and hold the Multifunction Button for approximately 2 seconds.
- Scan Stations: Briefly press the '+' or '-' Button while FM radio is active.
6.6. Call Management
- Answer Call: Briefly press the Multifunction Button.
- End Call: Briefly press the Multifunction Button.
- Reject Call: Press and hold the Multifunction Button for 2 seconds.
- Voice Assistant: Double-press the Multifunction Button to activate your phone's voice assistant (e.g., Siri, Google Assistant).
6.7. Adjusting Volume
- Volume Up: Briefly press the '+' Button.
- Volume Down: Briefly press the '-' Button.
6.8. Changing Lighting Modes

7. Maintenance
7.1. Cleaning
Wipe the intercom unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Ensure the charging port cover is securely closed before cleaning.
7.2. Waterproof Care (IP67)

The G-MAX has an IP67 waterproof rating, meaning it is protected from dust and can withstand immersion in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. However, to maintain its waterproof integrity:
- Always ensure the headset/charging port cover is firmly sealed before exposure to water or dust.
- Avoid prolonged immersion or high-pressure water jets.
- If the device gets wet, dry it thoroughly before charging or opening any ports.
7.3. Battery Care
- Charge the battery regularly, even if the device is not in use, to prolong its lifespan.
- Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures (hot or cold) as this can affect battery performance.
