User Tips
- Range Optimization: For best range, operate in open areas with minimal obstructions. Buildings, hills, and dense foliage can significantly reduce communication distance.
- Battery Life: To conserve battery, avoid unnecessary transmissions and keep the volume at a moderate level.
- Channel Etiquette: Always check if a channel is clear before transmitting to avoid interrupting ongoing conversations.
- Privacy Codes (CTCSS/DCS): While these codes help filter out unwanted signals, they do not guarantee privacy. Your conversations can still be heard by others on the same main channel without the specific code.
- VOX Sensitivity: If using VOX, adjust the sensitivity carefully to prevent accidental transmissions from background noise or to ensure your voice is consistently picked up.
