1. Introduction

The Resound TV Streamer 2 is a wireless accessory designed to provide crystal-clear stereo sound directly from your television or other audio devices to your compatible Resound hearing aids. This device allows individual users to set their preferred volume level, ensuring an optimal listening experience without affecting others.

2. Setup

2.1 Power Connection

Connect the provided power supply cable to a wall socket and then insert the micro-USB end into the corresponding slot on the TV Streamer 2.

2.2 Audio Connections

The TV Streamer 2 offers multiple ways to connect to your audio source. Refer to Figure 3 for port locations.

  1. Audio Jack (RCA/Stereo Mini-Jack): Insert the male stereo mini-jack on the audio cable into the female stereo mini-jack input on the TV Streamer 2. Plug the other end into the 'Audio Out' (typically marked 'L' and 'R') sockets on your audio device (e.g., TV, stereo, computer).
  2. Headphone Jack: If your device has a headphone/audio socket, you can connect the audio cable directly into the slot labeled 'audio' or 'headphones' on your device.
  3. SCART Adapter: For TVs with a SCART port, use a SCART adapter. Connect the red/white audio cables into the adapter, then plug the adapter into the SCART port on your TV.
  4. Toslink Audio Input (Optical): Connect an optical audio cable to the Toslink input on the TV Streamer 2 and to the 'Digital Audio Out/Optical' slot on your chosen device.
  5. Coaxial Audio Input: If your device has a 'Digital Audio Out/Coaxial' slot, use a coaxial audio cable to connect it to the corresponding input on the TV Streamer 2.

3. Operation

3.1 Pairing Your Hearing Aids

The TV Streamer 2 can be paired with up to three separate hearing aid devices.

  1. Ensure your TV Streamer 2 is powered on and its LED indicator is green.
  2. Make sure any other hearing aids you wish to pair are currently turned OFF.
  3. Press the pairing button on the TV Streamer 2 the corresponding number of times for the desired channel (e.g., once for channel one, twice for channel two).
  4. The TV Streamer 2's LED will flash yellow for 20 seconds, indicating it is in pairing mode.
  5. Turn on your hearing aid device(s). Once pairing is complete, an audible melody will play from both hearing instruments.

6. Troubleshooting

  • No Sound:
    • Ensure the TV Streamer 2 is powered on and the LED is green.
    • Verify all audio cables are securely connected to both the streamer and your audio source.
    • Confirm your hearing aids are properly paired with the streamer (refer to Section 3.1).
    • Check the volume settings on your TV/audio source and your hearing aids.
  • Poor Sound Quality/Interference:
    • Ensure audio cables are fully inserted and not damaged.
    • Reduce the distance between the TV Streamer 2 and your hearing aids.
    • Minimize potential sources of interference (e.g., other wireless devices, large metal objects).
  • Cannot Pair Devices:
    • Ensure the hearing aids you wish to pair are turned OFF before initiating pairing mode on the streamer.
    • Confirm the TV Streamer 2 is showing a flashing yellow light during the pairing process.
    • Try restarting both the TV Streamer 2 and your hearing aids, then repeat the pairing steps.

7. User Tips

  • Optimal Placement: Place the TV Streamer 2 in a central location, ideally within 7 meters (23 feet) of where you typically listen, to ensure the best signal strength.
  • App Integration: Utilize the BeMore App (if compatible with your hearing aids) to conveniently control the TV Streamer 2 settings from your smartphone.
  • Specific Compatibility: If you have a newer Resound hearing aid model not explicitly listed in the compatibility section (e.g., Resound Nexia), always confirm with customer support for the latest compatibility information.

8. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or immerse the device in water.
  • Storage: Store the TV Streamer 2 in a cool, dry place when not in use.
  • Cable Care: Handle all cables gently to prevent damage. Avoid bending or twisting them sharply.
