1. Introduction
This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your KERUI Wireless Water Sensor. This device is designed to detect water leaks and drips, alerting you with a loud 90dB alarm to prevent potential water damage in areas such as kitchens, bathrooms, and basements. The sensor is available in two versions: an independent Water Alarm and a WIFI Water Alarm that integrates with the Tuya smart app.

3. Setup
3.1 Battery Installation
The device requires two AAA 1.5V batteries (not included). Follow these steps to install the batteries:
- Use a pry tool or a small screwdriver to gently open the cover of the battery compartment on the back of the device.
- Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and - terminals).
- Close the battery compartment cover and tighten the screws to prevent water ingress.
- Press the "test" button. A loud sound indicates correct installation. If the sound is low, the battery may need replacement.

3.2 Placement
The KERUI Wireless Water Sensor is designed for flexible placement without complex installation. Place the detector in any area where water leaks or drips may occur.
- Common locations include bathrooms (near toilets, showers, wash basins), kitchens (near sinks, dishwashers), basements, and utility rooms (near water heaters, washing machines).
- For the Water Alarm model, simply place it on a flat surface.
- For the WIFI Water Alarm model, it can also be installed on a wall using screws or double-sided tape.
- If using an external cable probe (for models that support it), ensure the rubber stopper is inserted into the socket when not using the probe to prevent water ingress into the circuits.

4. Operation
The water sensor operates by detecting water contact with its drip and overflow detection contacts. When water bridges these contacts, the alarm is triggered.
4.1 Leakage Detection and Alarm
When the water level is higher than 1mm and touches the detection probes, the device will emit a loud "didi" sound, reaching approximately 90dB. This alarm will continue to sound as long as water is detected, ensuring you are alerted to potential leaks or drips.

4.2 Model Specifics
- Water Alarm (Independent Use): This version operates independently and cannot be connected to an alarm system or Wi-Fi. It provides a local audible alert.
- WIFI Water Alarm: This version can connect to 2.4G Wi-Fi networks and be controlled via the Tuya smart app, allowing for remote notifications and control. It does not support 5GHz Wi-Fi.
5. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and reliable operation of your water sensor.
- Battery Replacement: The device has a standby time of approximately 4-6 months. When the "test" button produces a low sound, it indicates that the batteries need to be replaced. Refer to Section 3.1 for battery installation instructions.
- Environmental Conditions: Temperature and humidity can affect battery life. Always try to keep the device in a dry environment.
- Cleaning: Periodically check the detection contacts for any debris or buildup that might interfere with water detection. Clean with a soft, dry cloth if necessary.

6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Alarm is not sounding when water is detected. | Batteries are dead or incorrectly installed. Detection contacts are dirty or obstructed. | Check battery polarity and replace if necessary. Clean detection contacts. Ensure water level is sufficient to bridge contacts. |
| Alarm sounds low when test button is pressed. | Low battery power. | Replace both AAA batteries. |
| WIFI Water Alarm not connecting to network. | Incorrect Wi-Fi frequency (5GHz instead of 2.4GHz). Incorrect Wi-Fi password. Device too far from router. | Ensure you are connecting to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Double-check Wi-Fi password. Move device closer to the Wi-Fi router. |
| Alarm continues after water is removed. | Residual water on contacts. | Dry the detection contacts thoroughly. |

8. User Tips
- Wi-Fi Compatibility: If you have the WIFI Water Alarm model, ensure your router is configured for 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, as the device does not support 5GHz networks.
- Independent Operation: The standard Water Alarm model operates independently and cannot be integrated with existing alarm systems.
- Battery Life: The actual battery life can vary significantly based on environmental factors (temperature, humidity) and how often the alarm is triggered. Regularly test the device using the test button to monitor battery health.
- Probe Usage: If your model includes an external cable probe, remember to insert the rubber stopper into the socket when the probe is not in use to protect internal circuits from water.
