4. Setup Guide
4.1 Phone Placement and Balancing
- Unfold the Gimbal: Gently unfold the HQ3 Gimbal Stabilizer to its operational position.
- Mount Your Smartphone: Carefully place your smartphone into the gimbal's clamp. Ensure the phone's width is between 55-85mm, its thickness is less than 8mm, and its weight is less than 260g.
- Center the Smartphone: It is crucial to center the mobile phone in the clamp before powering on the gimbal. Improper centering can lead to abnormal vibration or shaking. The HQ3 features automatic balancing, so no manual parameter adjustment is needed once the phone is correctly placed.

4.2 Power On/Off
Press and hold the power button (usually the main function button) for a few seconds to turn the gimbal on or off. Ensure your phone is properly mounted and centered before powering on.
4.3 Bluetooth Pairing
The HQ3 connects easily via Bluetooth. Once powered on, activate Bluetooth on your smartphone and search for devices. The gimbal's Bluetooth name will appear as "HQ3" followed by the last 4 digits of its serial number. Select it to pair. The HQ3 does not require a dedicated app for operation; it functions solely via Bluetooth connection.

5. Operating Modes
The HQ3 Gimbal Stabilizer offers various modes to enhance your shooting experience:
- Pan Following Mode (PF): In this mode, the tilt axis and roll axis maintain their direction, while the lens rotates in sync with the direction of the handle.
- Horizontal Lock Mode (HL): The roll axis remains horizontal, and the lens rotates according to the handle's movement.
- FPV First Person View (FPV): This mode simulates a first-person visual effect by making the lens follow the projection direction of the handle.
- Global Lock (GL): To activate Global Lock, press and hold the trigger button. This will fully lock the gimbal's position under PF or HL mode.
- Manual Lock: You can manually lock the phone's angle. Hold the mobile phone clip by hand, pull it to the desired tilt angle, and hold it for half a second to lock the current angle.
The gimbal also supports free switching between horizontal and vertical shooting, catering to various video platforms and shooting needs.

6. Charging Instructions
The HQ3 Gimbal Stabilizer is equipped with a built-in 2200mAh Li-battery, providing up to 8 hours of continuous use. To charge the device:
- Use the provided USB cable (USB-A to Type-C) or a compatible cable with a USB-A connector on one end and a Type-C connector on the other.
- Connect the Type-C end to the gimbal's charging port and the USB-A end to a 5V1A power source (e.g., a wall adapter, computer USB port).
- Important: Cables with Type-C connectors at both ends cannot be used for charging the HQ3.

7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the gimbal. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Storage: Store the gimbal in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. When not in use, it is recommended to fold the gimbal for compact storage.
- Battery Care: For optimal battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. If storing for an extended period, charge the battery to about 50-60%.

8. Troubleshooting
8.1 Gimbal Shaking, Vibrating, or Making Electric Current Sound
Cause: This usually occurs if the mobile phone is not properly centered before turning on the gimbal, or if the gimbal is turned on without a phone mounted. Releasing the handle when not using a tripod can also cause this.
Solution: Ensure the mobile phone is securely placed and perfectly centered in the clamp before powering on the HQ3. If the issue persists, power off the gimbal, re-center the phone, and power it back on. Avoid releasing the handle if not using a tripod.
8.2 Gimbal Not Charging
Cause: Using an incompatible charging cable.
Solution: Only use the USB cable provided with the HQ3 (USB-A to Type-C) or a compatible cable with a USB-A connector on one end and a Type-C connector on the other. Cables with Type-C connectors at both ends are not compatible for charging this device.
8.3 Joystick Suddenly Stops Working
Cause: The gimbal has a limit angle for its movements. If the HQ3 is manipulated to move beyond these limits (e.g., tilted forward 30 degrees with the phone lens up or down to 30 degrees), it will automatically activate a self-protection mechanism, causing the joystick to become unresponsive.
Solution: This is a normal self-protection phenomenon. To restore functionality, ensure the HQ3 is upright and not in a tilted state. Gently shake the phone slightly with your hand to reset the gimbal's position.
8.4 General Shaking Issues
Cause: Most shaking issues are due to incorrect usage.
Solution: Always refer to the user manual and any instructional videos for proper operation techniques. Correct usage is key to stable performance.
9. User Tips
- Always ensure your smartphone is perfectly centered in the gimbal clamp before powering on to prevent vibrations.
- Use the correct USB-A to Type-C cable for charging to avoid issues.
- Be mindful of the gimbal's movement limits to prevent it from entering self-protection mode.
- The HQ3 operates via Bluetooth only and does not support a dedicated mobile application.
- This gimbal does not feature auto-tracking, face-tracking, or direct zoom control from the stabilizer.
- The device is not designed to be expanded in length.
- The HQ3 is compatible with most smartphones within the specified dimensions (width 55-85mm, thickness <8mm, weight <260g), including various iPhone and Android models.
