8. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the headlight with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the headlight in a cool, dry place when not in use. For long-term storage, charge the battery to about 50% every few months to maintain battery health.
- Water Resistance: The headlights are rated IPX6 (some models IPX5) for water resistance, meaning they are protected against strong jets of water. While suitable for use in rainy conditions, avoid submerging the light in water.

9. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Headlight does not turn on. | Battery is depleted, or light is in locked state. | Charge the headlight. If still unresponsive, try unlocking by pressing the power button 3 times. |
| Battery drains quickly even when not in use. | Possible standby power consumption or battery degradation. | Ensure the light is fully turned off (not just in standby). If the issue persists, contact customer support. |
| Mounting bracket (e.g., GoPro adapter) is damaged. | Physical damage from impact or wear. | Contact XOSS customer support for information on replacement parts. |
| Cannot mount to a Garmin Edge or Cycplus speedometer stand. | Direct compatibility may not exist; requires an adapter. | The XOSS light uses a GoPro-style adapter. To mount it to a Garmin Edge or Cycplus stand, you would need a third-party adapter that converts the Garmin/Cycplus mount to a GoPro interface. |
10. User Tips
- Initial Setup: Remember to unlock your headlight by pressing the power button three times or by charging it once before its first use. This is a common oversight.
- Daytime Visibility: Utilize the DRL (Daytime Running Light) mode, if available on your model, even during the day to significantly increase your visibility to others on the road.
- Battery Management: For optimal battery longevity, avoid completely draining the battery frequently. Charge it regularly, especially before long rides.
- Mounting Flexibility: Experiment with both handlebar and GoPro adapter mounting options to find the best position for your riding style and other accessories.
- Emergency Use: The light's versatile modes, including SOS, make it a reliable emergency flashlight for various situations beyond cycling.
