2. Connectivity Options
The scanner supports two wireless connection modes:
2.1. Bluetooth 4.0 Connection
- Turn on the scanner using the power switch.
- Scan the 'Bluetooth Pairing' barcode (usually found in the full user manual or on a setup card). The scanner will enter pairing mode, indicated by a flashing blue light.
- On your host device (smartphone, tablet, PC), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
- Select 'Eyoyo Barcode Scanner' (or similar name) from the list of found devices to pair.
- Once paired, the indicator light on the scanner will turn solid blue, and you can begin scanning.
2.2. 2.4G Wireless Connection (via USB Dongle)
- Turn on the scanner using the power switch.
- Plug the 2.4G USB dongle into an available USB port on your computer or POS system.
- The system will automatically install the necessary drivers (this may take a few moments).
- The scanner and dongle should automatically connect. The indicator light on the scanner will turn solid green (or similar, refer to full manual for exact color) once connected.
- You can now scan barcodes, and the data will be transmitted to your host device.

Operating Instructions
1. Scanning Barcodes
- Ensure the scanner is powered on and successfully connected to your host device (via Bluetooth or 2.4G dongle).
- Open a text editor, spreadsheet, or application where you want the scanned data to appear.
- Point the scan window at the barcode you wish to scan.
- Press and hold the scan button. A laser line or light will emit from the scan window.
- Once the barcode is successfully read, the scanner will emit a beep, and the indicator light will flash (refer to the full manual for specific light patterns). The barcode data will appear in your application.
- Release the scan button.

2. Data Storage (Offline Mode)
The scanner features 16MB of internal flash memory, allowing it to store up to 50,000 barcodes when not connected to a host device. This is useful for inventory collection in areas without wireless coverage.
- To activate offline storage mode, scan the 'Inventory Mode' barcode (refer to the full user manual).
- Scan barcodes as usual; they will be stored in the scanner's memory.
- To upload stored data, connect the scanner to your host device and scan the 'Upload Data' barcode. The stored barcodes will be transmitted.
- To clear stored data, scan the 'Clear Data' barcode.
3. Compatibility
The Eyoyo scanner is highly compatible with a wide range of electronic devices and operating systems, including:
- PCs and Laptops (Windows XP/7.0/8.0/WinCE)
- Mobile Devices (Windows Mobile, Android OS, iPhone/iPad)
- POS Systems

Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the scanner's exterior. For the scan window, use a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Storage: Store the scanner in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for an extended period, ensure the battery is partially charged (around 50%) to prolong its lifespan.
- Battery Care: Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Recharge the battery when the low battery indicator appears.
- Avoid Drops: While durable, avoid dropping the scanner, especially on hard surfaces, to prevent damage to internal components.
Troubleshooting
- Scanner not turning on:
- Ensure the battery is correctly installed and charged. Connect the scanner to a power source to charge it.
- Scanner not connecting via Bluetooth:
- Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your host device. Scan the 'Bluetooth Pairing' barcode again to re-enter pairing mode. Ensure the scanner is within the 10-meter range. Try restarting both the scanner and the host device.
- Scanner not connecting via 2.4G dongle:
- Ensure the USB dongle is securely plugged into a working USB port. Try plugging the dongle into a different USB port. Ensure the scanner is within the 120-meter outdoor range. Restart your computer.
- Scanner not reading barcodes:
-
- Ensure the barcode is clean, undamaged, and clearly printed.
- Adjust the distance and angle between the scanner and the barcode.
- Check if the barcode type is supported by the scanner (refer to Specifications).
- If using EY-2877L (Laser version), ensure you are not trying to scan from a screen. Use EY-2877C (CCD version) for screen scanning.
- Ensure the scan window is clean and free of obstructions.
- Scanned data not appearing on screen:
- Verify that the scanner is successfully connected to your host device. Ensure a text input field or application is active on your host device to receive the data.
User Tips
- Optimize Battery Life: Turn off the scanner when not in use to conserve battery. For long-term storage, charge the battery to about 50% to maintain its health.
- Leverage Offline Storage: Utilize the 16MB internal memory for inventory tasks in areas where real-time connectivity is not feasible. Remember to upload and clear data regularly.
- Choose the Right Model: If you frequently need to scan barcodes from digital screens (e.g., mobile phones, computer monitors), ensure you have the EY-2877C (CCD version). The EY-2877L (Laser version) is designed for physical barcodes only.
- Test Connectivity: Before starting a large scanning task, perform a quick test scan to ensure the scanner is properly connected to your device and transmitting data correctly.
- Keep the Manual Handy: Refer to the full user manual for advanced configurations, specific barcode settings, and detailed indicator light explanations.
