5.2 Intercom Functions

The V6 Plus supports up to 6 riders for connection, with 2 riders able to talk in full duplex at the same time. The main device can be paired with up to 5 sub-devices. The main device can then select one sub-device (A, B, C, D, or E) to communicate with.

Two images showing '2 intercom modes': Normal intercom mode (multi-person) and Private intercom mode (private channel).

Figure 8: Normal and Private Intercom Modes.

  1. Pairing with a Sub-Device (e.g., Device A):
    - Long press the MOTOR button on the main device and the MOTOR button on Device A simultaneously for about 5 seconds. Both devices' red and blue lights will flash.
    - Once they find each other, one device will automatically initiate a pairing connection, and the blue light will flash quickly.
    - After a short while, the blue lights on both devices will flash slowly simultaneously, indicating successful pairing and normal communication.
    - To pair the next sub-device, first press the MOTOR button on the main device to disconnect from the current sub-device.
  2. Pairing with Other Sub-Devices (B, C, D, E):
    - The pairing process for devices B, C, D, and E is similar to Device A. Instead of the MOTOR button, you will use the corresponding B, C, D, or E button on both the main device and the sub-device you wish to pair.
    - For example, to pair with Device B, long press the B button on the main device and the B button on Device B simultaneously for about 5 seconds.

Important: The main device cannot communicate with all 5 sub-devices simultaneously. It can only select one sub-device at a time for communication. Use the MOTOR/B/C/D/E buttons on the main device to switch between paired sub-devices. The other five sub-devices cannot communicate directly with each other.

Note: Once paired, you do not need to re-pair the devices for subsequent use. Simply press the corresponding MOTOR/B/C/D/E button on the main device to connect and talk.

8. Troubleshooting

8.1 Common Issues and Solutions

  • Pairing Failure:
    - Ensure both devices are in pairing mode (red and blue lights flashing alternately).
    - Clear previous pairings by pressing the Phone button and B button simultaneously until the indicator flashes red three times and blue once.
    - If using an older version of the machine as the main unit, it may not successfully pair with a newer version. The newer version must be used as the main machine for successful pairing with an older version.
  • No Sound or Poor Audio Quality:
    - Check if the headset jack is fully inserted into the Type-C port.
    - Ensure speakers are correctly positioned inside the helmet, close to your ears.
    - Verify volume levels on both the intercom and your connected phone/GPS.
    - If the microphone or headphones stop working, contact customer support for potential replacement parts.
  • Intercom Disconnection:
    - Ensure you are within the effective intercom range (up to 1200M, typically 300-800M outdoors).
    - Obstacles like buildings or dense terrain can reduce range. Use in open areas for optimal performance.
    - If the connection drops, try re-establishing by pressing the corresponding pairing button (MOTOR/B/C/D/E) on the main unit.
  • Cannot Connect to Other Brands:
    - While the V6 Plus supports universal pairing, compatibility can vary. Ensure the other brand's intercom is in its universal pairing mode.

9. Safety Precautions

  1. Waterproofing: Ensure the headphone jack is fully inserted into the device, especially in rainy conditions, to prevent water ingress.
  2. Charging: Always use the standard DC5V/1A charger to ensure battery longevity and safety.
  3. Riding Safety: For your safety, it is not recommended to listen to music while riding, as it may distract you from your surroundings.
  4. Manual Operation: Avoid manually operating the device buttons while riding. Focus on the road and your surroundings.
  5. Communication Distance: For optimal communication range, it is recommended to use the intercom in open areas with minimal obstructions.
