6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the device. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Lens Care: Gently clean the laser lens with a soft cloth or lens cleaning solution. Avoid scratching the lens.
- Storage: Store the device in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for extended periods, remove AAA batteries (for applicable models).
- Battery Care:
- For AAA battery models: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears.
- For Li-ion battery models: Recharge the battery when the low battery indicator appears. Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently to prolong its lifespan.
- Water and Dust Resistance: The device has an IP54 rating, meaning it is protected against dust ingress and splashing water from any direction. It is not waterproof and should not be submerged.
7. Troubleshooting
- Device does not turn on:
- Check if batteries are correctly inserted (AAA models).
- Replace batteries if they are depleted (AAA models).
- Charge the device if it has a built-in lithium battery.
- "Error" or inaccurate readings:
- Ensure the laser beam is not obstructed.
- Check if the target surface is suitable for laser measurement (e.g., not highly reflective or transparent).
- Perform a self-calibration (refer to section 5.8).
- Clean the laser lens.
- Display is dim or unresponsive:
- Check battery level and replace/recharge if necessary.
- Ensure the device is not exposed to extreme temperatures.
- Auto shut-off: The device is designed to automatically shut off after 150 seconds of inactivity to conserve battery. This is normal operation.
