5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

  1. Drone Battery: The drone uses a modular Lipo battery. Insert the battery into the designated compartment on the drone until it clicks securely into place.
  2. Remote Controller Battery: Open the battery compartment on the back of the remote controller. Insert 3 AA batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity. Close the compartment.

5.2 Propeller Installation

If replacement is needed, ensure you use the correct 'A' and 'B' type propellers as indicated in the spare propeller set. Secure them with the provided blade screws and screwdriver.

5.3 Initial Power On and Pairing

  1. Turn on the drone by pressing the power button. The indicator lights will flash.
  2. Turn on the remote controller.
  3. Push the left joystick up and then down to pair the remote controller with the drone. A successful pairing will be indicated by solid lights on the drone.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Basic Flight Controls

  • One-Touch Takeoff/Landing: Press the dedicated button on the remote controller for automatic takeoff or landing.
  • Altitude Hold: The drone will automatically maintain a set altitude when the throttle stick is released, providing stable hovering.
  • Headless Mode: Activate Headless Mode to simplify flight orientation. In this mode, the drone's front will always be the same direction as the remote controller, regardless of the drone's actual orientation.
  • 3D Flip Function: Perform exciting aerial stunts with the 3D flip button.

6.2 Camera Operation

The drone is equipped with a 4K HD camera for high-quality photos and videos.

  • Adjustable Camera: The camera angle can be adjusted up and down by up to 80 degrees remotely via the remote control during flight.
  • Electronic Zoom: The camera's focus can be adjusted manually through the mobile app function for zooming in or out.
  • WiFi FPV: Connect your smartphone to the drone's WiFi network to view real-time FPV (First Person View) footage and capture images/videos directly to your device.

6.3 Special Flight Features

  • Land Flight Mode: The drone can switch to a unique land mode, allowing it to operate and taxi on the ground.
  • Intelligent Return System: Utilize the one-click recall function for the drone to automatically return. The drone also features an automatic return function when the battery is low.
  • Optical Flow Positioning: For stable hovering and precise fixed-point flight, especially indoors, the drone uses optical flow positioning to maintain balance and stability.
  • Intelligent Follow Shooting: Connect the drone to your mobile phone via the app to enable intelligent follow shooting, where the drone tracks your mobile device's real-time location.
  • 360° Circle Flight: Engage the 360° intelligent surround shooting feature to capture dynamic circular footage.
  • Waypoint Setting: Plan your flight path by setting up to 16 coordinates on a map through the mobile application.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Charging the Battery

Connect the drone's Lipo battery to the provided USB charger. Plug the USB charger into a suitable power source (110-240 V). The charging time is approximately 120 minutes. Do not overcharge the battery.

7.2 Cleaning

Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the drone and remote controller. Avoid using water or chemical cleaners, as they may damage the electronic components.

7.3 Propeller Replacement

If a propeller is damaged, use the included screwdriver to carefully remove the old propeller and replace it with a new one from the spare set. Ensure the correct 'A' and 'B' type propellers are installed in their respective positions.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your JJRC X27 Drone, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Drone does not power on: Ensure the drone battery is fully charged and correctly installed.
  • Remote controller does not power on: Check if the 3 AA batteries are correctly installed and have sufficient charge.
  • Drone and remote controller do not pair: Ensure both devices are powered on and perform the pairing sequence (left joystick up then down) within close proximity.
  • Unstable flight/Drifting: Perform a calibration of the drone's gyroscopes as per the full user manual. Ensure you are flying in calm conditions, as the drone has limited wind resistance.
  • Poor FPV signal: Ensure your smartphone is connected to the drone's WiFi network. Reduce the distance between the drone and your phone/controller, and avoid areas with high signal interference.
  • Drone does not respond to controls: Check battery levels of both drone and remote controller. Re-pair the devices if necessary.
