Maintenance
- Keep the device clean and dry. Avoid exposure to extreme temperatures or humidity unless the sensor is specifically designed for such conditions (e.g., waterproof sensor).
- Regularly check sensor connections to ensure they are secure.
- For soil moisture sensors (MS01), ensure the probe is clean and free from excessive soil buildup for accurate readings.
- Ensure the protective cover is always in place during operation to shield high-voltage parts.
Troubleshooting
- Device not responding: Check power supply and ensure the device is properly wired.
- Wi-Fi connectivity issues: Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz and stable. Re-attempt Bluetooth pairing or QR code scan if initial setup failed.
- Sensor not reading: Verify the RJ11 sensor connection is secure. If using an extension cable, ensure it is properly connected.
- Automation not working: Check your Auto Mode or Smart Scene settings in the eWelink app to ensure thresholds and actions are correctly configured.
- LAN Control: Remember that TH Origin supports LAN control, so if Wi-Fi is temporarily unavailable, local automations should continue to function.

User Tips
- If you have older 2.5mm audio jack sensors (Si7021/AM2301/DS18B20) and wish to use them with the new TH Origin, you will need to purchase an RJ11 adapter.
- The MS01 Soil Moisture Sensor comes with a free RJ11 adapter to ensure compatibility with the TH Origin.
- For optimal performance and extended reach, utilize the RL560 sensor extension cable. Remember that THS01 and DS18B20 can be extended up to 60M, while MS01 can be extended up to 10M.
- Take advantage of the 6-month historical data feature to analyze environmental trends and fine-tune your automation settings for better energy efficiency and comfort.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- Q: Is the MS01 sensor compatible with the old TH16 with a 2.5mm audio jack?
- A: No, the MS01 sensor uses an RJ11 connector. While it comes with an RJ11 adapter to fit the new TH Origin, it is not directly compatible with the old TH16's 2.5mm audio jack without a specific adapter for the TH16.
- Q: How can I extend the distance of my sensors?
- A: You can use the SONOFF RL560 Sensor Extension Cable. It allows THS01 and DS18B20 sensors to be extended up to 60 meters, and the MS01 Soil Moisture Sensor up to 10 meters.
- Q: What if my Wi-Fi connection drops?
- A: The TH Origin supports LAN control. This means that even if your Wi-Fi connection is temporarily lost, the device's pre-configured automatic control programs based on temperature and humidity thresholds will continue to operate locally.
