2. Safety Information
WARNING: To avoid possible electric shock or personal injury, and to avoid possible damage to the meter or to the equipment under test, follow these safety rules:
- Always ensure the multimeter is in the correct function and range before making measurements.
- Do not apply more than the rated voltage, as marked on the meter, between the terminals or between any terminal and earth ground.
- Use caution when working with voltages above 30V AC RMS, 42V peak, or 60V DC. Such voltages pose a shock hazard.
- Before making current measurements, check the meter's fuses and turn off power to the circuit before connecting the meter in series.
- Do not use the meter if it is damaged or if the test leads are damaged. Inspect the meter and test leads before use.
- Do not operate the meter around explosive gas, vapor, or dust.
- Always use the proper terminals, function, and range for your measurements.
- Replace the battery as soon as the low battery indicator appears to avoid incorrect readings.

4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
The ANENG SZ302 Multimeter requires two No. 5 AA batteries (1.5V each) for operation. To install or replace batteries:
- Ensure the multimeter is turned off and test leads are disconnected from any circuit.
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the multimeter.
- Use a screwdriver to open the battery compartment.
- Insert two AA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+ and -).
- Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it with the screw.
4.2 Test Lead Connection
Always connect the black test lead to the COM (common) jack. Connect the red test lead to the appropriate input jack based on the measurement you intend to make:
- For Voltage, Resistance, Capacitance, and Diode measurements: Connect the red test lead to the VΩmA jack.
- For Current measurements (up to 10A): Connect the red test lead to the 10A jack.

5. Operating Instructions
To operate the multimeter, turn the rotary switch to the desired function. Use the SEL button to toggle between AC/DC modes or other sub-functions if available within a single rotary switch position.
5.1 General Measurement Procedures
- Connect the test leads correctly to the multimeter and the circuit under test.
- Select the appropriate function and range using the rotary switch.
- Read the measurement value on the digital display.
- Disconnect the test leads from the circuit and then from the multimeter after measurement.
5.2 Specific Measurement Functions
- DC Voltage Measurement: Turn the rotary switch to the "V=" position. Connect the test leads in parallel to the DC voltage source. The voltage of the voltmeter battery is about 3.2V, and the measurement is accurate.
- AC Voltage Measurement: Turn the rotary switch to the "V~" position. Connect the test leads in parallel to the AC voltage source. Use the test pen to measure the AC voltage commonly used in households, which is about 220V.
- DC Current Measurement: Turn the rotary switch to the "A=" position. Connect the multimeter in series with the circuit. Ensure the red test lead is in the 10A jack for high currents. Connected in series to measure when the strip is working current, the maximum current is 10A.
- AC Current Measurement: Turn the rotary switch to the "A~" position. Connect the multimeter in series with the circuit. Ensure the red test lead is in the 10A jack for high currents. The AC current gear is connected to measure the current of the bulb at work (the red test pen is inserted in the current gear!).
- Resistance Measurement: Turn the rotary switch to the "Ω" position. Connect the test leads across the component to measure its resistance. Resistor gear, just touch both ends of the resistor with a test pen.
- Capacitance Measurement: Turn the rotary switch to the "F" position. Before measuring, short-circuit the capacitor to discharge it. Use a screwdriver to touch the two ends of the capacitor to short-circuit the discharge. Then, just touch the two ends of the capacitor with the test pen.
- Diode Test: Turn the rotary switch to the diode symbol. Press the SEL button to switch to the diode test. Connect the red test lead to the anode and the black test lead to the cathode of the diode. The display will show the forward voltage drop.
- NCV Induction (Non-Contact Voltage): Turn the rotary switch to the NCV position. Bring the NCV sensor near an AC voltage source. The meter will beep and the warning light will flash if AC voltage is detected.
- 1.5V Battery Measurement: Turn the gear to the corresponding gear, measure the battery detection of 1.5V.
- Buzzer Measurement (Continuity): Turn the rotary switch to the continuity symbol. Test leads contact fuse, middle LED blinks and beeps.

6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning
Wipe the case with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasives or solvents. Clean the terminals with a cotton swab and detergent, as dirt or moisture in the terminals can affect readings.
6.2 Battery Replacement
When the low battery indicator appears on the display, replace the batteries immediately to ensure accurate measurements. Refer to Section 4.1 for battery installation instructions.
6.3 Storage
If the meter is not to be used for a long period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage and damage to the device. Store the multimeter in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your ANENG SZ302 Multimeter, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- No Display/Power On: Check battery installation and ensure batteries are not depleted. Replace if necessary.
- Incorrect Readings:
- Ensure test leads are correctly connected to the appropriate jacks and the circuit.
- Verify the rotary switch is set to the correct function and range.
- Check for low battery indicator; replace batteries if shown.
- Clean test lead tips and input jacks if dirty.
- "OL" or "OVER" on Display: Indicates an overload or out-of-range measurement. Select a higher range or ensure the measurement is within the meter's capabilities.
- No NCV Detection: Ensure the NCV function is selected and the sensor is brought close enough to the AC voltage source.
