1. Product Overview

The KERUI Tuya Smart Doorbell & WiFi Alarm System (Model WM5221) combines the functionality of a smart doorbell with a comprehensive wireless alarm system. It offers remote control via the Tuya Smart/Smart Life APP, a wide selection of ringtones, and integration with various security sensors to protect your home or office.

2. Setup

2.1 Package Contents

Depending on your purchased kit, your package may include:

  • WM5221 Main Doorbell/Alarm Host
  • F15 Doorbell Button
  • RC531 Remote Control
  • P831 Motion Sensor (PIR Detector)
  • D025 Door/Window Sensor
  • Other optional sensors (Smoke Detector, Gas Detector, IP Camera)

2.2 Initial Power-Up

  1. Plug the main WM5221 Doorbell/Alarm Host into a standard AC 100V~240V 50Hz~60Hz power outlet.
  2. Ensure the device powers on, indicated by a status light.

2.3 Connecting to Tuya Smart/Smart Life APP

  1. Download the 'Tuya Smart' or 'Smart Life' app from your mobile device's app store.
  2. Register or log in to your account.
  3. Ensure your mobile device is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network (5GHz networks are not supported).
  4. In the app, tap 'Add Device' or the '+' icon.
  5. Select 'Security & Sensors' then choose the appropriate device type (e.g., 'Alarm (Wi-Fi)').
  6. Follow the in-app instructions to reset the device (usually by pressing a button on the host until an indicator blinks rapidly).
  7. Confirm the indicator is blinking rapidly in the app.
  8. Enter your Wi-Fi password and confirm. The app will then connect to the device.

2.4 Adding Accessories (Sensors and Remote Controls)

Once the main host is connected to the app, you can add other accessories:

  1. In the WM5221 device interface within the Tuya app, navigate to 'Accessories' or 'Settings'.
  2. Select 'Add Device' or the '+' icon for accessories.
  3. Trigger the accessory (e.g., press a button on the remote control, separate the door sensor, or trigger the PIR motion sensor).
  4. The app will confirm 'Device add success'. Repeat for all additional accessories.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Doorbell Mode

  • When the doorbell button is pressed, the main host will chime, and a notification will be sent to your mobile app.
  • The doorbell button is designed to be waterproof (IP55 rated) for outdoor use.

3.2 Alarm System Mode

  • Arming/Disarming: Use the remote control or the Tuya app to arm or disarm the alarm system.
  • Sensor Triggering: If any paired sensor (e.g., door/window sensor, PIR motion detector, smoke detector) is triggered while the system is armed, the main host will sound an alarm, and an instant notification will be sent to your mobile app.
  • SOS Function: The remote control typically includes an SOS button for emergency alerts.

3.3 Customizing Settings via APP

  • Ringtone Selection: Choose from 52 available ringtones for the doorbell and alarm.
  • Volume Adjustment: Adjust the volume of the host across 4 levels (0-110dB).
  • Arm/Disarm Push Switch: Enable or disable push notifications for arm/disarm events.
  • Arm Delay/Entry Delay: Configure delay times for arming and entry.

3.4 Voice Assistant Integration

The system can be integrated with intelligent voice assistants (e.g., Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant) to control certain functions like arming/disarming the alarm system.

4. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the main unit and sensors. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Replacement: The wireless doorbell button and other battery-powered sensors will require battery replacement periodically. Refer to the individual sensor's instructions for specific battery types and replacement procedures.
  • Environmental Conditions: Ensure the main unit is kept in a dry environment and within its specified operating temperature range. While the doorbell button is waterproof (IP55), prolonged exposure to extreme weather conditions should be avoided.
  • Firmware Updates: Regularly check the Tuya Smart/Smart Life app for any available firmware updates for the main host to ensure optimal performance and security.

5. Troubleshooting

  • Device not connecting to Wi-Fi: Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz. Check that the Wi-Fi password is entered correctly in the app. Try resetting the device and re-pairing.
  • Sensors not triggering alarm: Verify that the sensors are properly paired with the main host via the app. Check battery levels for wireless sensors. Ensure the system is armed when testing alarm functions.
  • No app notifications: Check your phone's notification settings for the Tuya Smart/Smart Life app to ensure notifications are enabled. Verify stable internet connection for both the host and your phone.
  • Doorbell not chiming: Check if the doorbell button is properly paired. Ensure the main host is powered on and the volume is not set to zero.

7. User Tips

  • Doorbell Button Batteries: The emitter doorbell button is battery-powered. If the button stops responding, check and replace its batteries.
  • Optimal Sensor Placement: For motion sensors, place them in areas where intruders are likely to cross, avoiding direct sunlight or heat sources that could cause false alarms. For door/window sensors, ensure the two parts are aligned and close enough when the door/window is closed.
  • Wi-Fi Stability: A stable 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connection is crucial for reliable app notifications and remote control. Ensure your router is within a reasonable range of the main host.
