4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

The HT127B multimeter requires 4 x 1.5V AAA batteries (not included). To install the batteries:

  1. Ensure the multimeter is powered off.
  2. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the device.
  3. Unscrew the battery compartment cover.
  4. Insert four 1.5V AAA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-).
  5. Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it with the screw.

WARNING: To avoid electrical shock, remove test leads before opening the case.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

Press the power button (Power button icon) to turn the multimeter on or off.

5.2 Mode Selection

The HT127B features a 'SMART' intelligent measurement mode that automatically recognizes the measurement type. You can also switch to manual mode using the 'FUNC' button to select specific functions.

5.3 Probe Jack Reminder

When switching measurement ranges, the corresponding input jack icon on the display screen will flash five times, reminding you to insert the probes into the correct jacks.

5.4 Non-Contact Voltage (NCV) Detection

NCV measurement allows for contactless detection of electricity to prevent electric shock. Press the NCV button to activate this mode. The display will show '---L' when a weak communication signal is detected (beeping slowly) and '---H' when a strong communication signal is detected (beeping quickly).

5.5 Live Wire Detection

The multimeter can function as an electric pen for single probe zero and live wire identification. Insert a single probe into the socket to detect live wires.

5.6 AC/DC Voltage Measurement

The multimeter provides quick identification and measurement of AC voltage and rapid, accurate measurement of DC voltage (e.g., car battery voltage).

5.7 AC/DC Current Measurement

When inserting a probe into the current (A) jack, the instrument automatically switches to the 'A~' range for current measurement. Switching ranges is not allowed at this time.

5.8 Continuity Test

The continuity test provides an audible beep and an illuminated alarm indicator when the circuit is connected. No beep or light indicates a disconnected circuit.

5.9 Temperature Measurement

Use the K-type thermocouple for temperature measurement. Caution should be exercised to avoid damage to the instrument or potential electric shock when connecting to a live body.

5.10 Automatic Shutdown

The multimeter features an automatic shutdown function after 15 minutes of inactivity to save battery energy.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Battery Replacement

Refer to Section 4.1 for instructions on battery installation and replacement.

6.2 Fuse Replacement

If the fuse is blown, the display will show a '---' symbol. If the current range is selected, it will also display 'FUSE', indicating that current measurement is not allowed. Please replace the fuse promptly. Refer to the device's internal diagram for fuse location and type (F 10A/250V).

6.3 Protective Case

The device features an all-around drop-resistant protective case, ensuring resistance to drops and wear, and providing a comfortable grip. Keep the case clean and free from debris.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 Fuse Blown Warning

If the multimeter displays a '---' symbol or 'FUSE' during current measurement, it indicates a blown fuse. Replace the fuse with one of the correct rating (F 10A/250V) as described in Section 6.2.
