2. Safety Information

Please read all safety warnings carefully before using the device to prevent damage to the tester or connected equipment.

  • Do not connect a power supply exceeding 24V to the tester.
  • The FNB38 USB-A input port supports high-power input (e.g., 20V * 5A = 100W).
  • The USB-A output port can withstand 5A current for a short time.
  • The Micro-USB input port does not support large current and high power; its input current cannot exceed 2.5A. When using high current and high power, it is recommended to use the Type-C female output.
  • The HID-USB interface is exclusively for data transmission.
  • When using high voltage and high power, the tester's temperature will rise. Exercise caution to prevent burns.
  • When upgrading firmware, always confirm the model first. Using firmware from other models can lead to unexpected errors.

Connecting the Tester:

  1. Connect the power source (e.g., charger, power bank) to one of the input ports (USB-A, Type-C, or Micro-USB).
  2. Connect the device to be charged or tested to one of the output ports (USB-A or Type-C).
  3. The 1.44-inch TFT LCD will display real-time voltage, current, and other relevant data.

Note:

  • Only one input and one output are allowed to be connected at the same time for testing.
  • Some testers support high-voltage fast charging, and output input ports after high-voltage trigger. If there is high voltage, do not connect any equipment with insufficient voltage. Always confirm the display voltage is correct before connecting equipment.

5. Maintenance

  • Keep the device clean and free from dust and moisture. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Avoid dropping the device or subjecting it to strong impacts.
  • Store the device in a cool, dry place when not in use.
  • Firmware Updates: Regularly check for firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and access to new features. Firmware updates can be found at: FNB38 Firmware Update Tool. Always confirm the model before updating.

6. Troubleshooting

  • No Display/Power: Ensure the power source is connected correctly and providing sufficient voltage (4-24V). Check cable connections.
  • Incorrect Readings: Verify that only one input and one output are connected simultaneously. Ensure cables are in good condition.
  • High Temperature: If the tester becomes hot during high voltage/power use, this is normal. However, if it becomes excessively hot, disconnect immediately and check for proper connections and power limits.
  • Protocol Trigger Issues: Ensure your device's firmware is up to date (V1.30 or later for advanced PD features). If triggering high voltage, confirm the display voltage is correct before connecting the equipment.
