2. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the FS-SM600 simulator from its packaging. Ensure all components are present, including the simulator unit and the USB cable.
  2. Software Installation: The simulator requires compatible flight simulation software. No additional hardware is needed; simply download and install your preferred simulation software (e.g., G4/G3.5, Phoenix 2.5, XTR5.0, FREERIDER, LIFTOFF, G7/G7.5).
  3. Connecting the Simulator: Connect the USB cable from the simulator to an available USB port on your computer or compatible mobile device. The simulator is powered directly via the USB connection and does not require batteries.
  4. Driver Installation (if necessary): Your operating system may automatically install necessary drivers. If not, refer to your simulation software's documentation for driver installation instructions.
  5. Mode Selection: The simulator supports Mode 1 (Right-hand Throttle) and Mode 2 (Left-hand Throttle). Configure the mode within your simulation software settings to match your preference.

3. Operating Instructions

Once the simulator is connected and your chosen software is installed and configured, you can begin your flight training.

  • Software Launch: Open your flight simulation software.
  • Calibration: It is recommended to calibrate the simulator within the software settings to ensure accurate control response.
  • Model Selection: Choose from a wide range of RC models available in your simulation software, including FPV drones, unmanned aerial vehicles, fixed-wing aircraft, and helicopters.
  • Controls: Familiarize yourself with the simulator's 6 channels of control, which typically include throttle, aileron, elevator, rudder, and auxiliary switches (SW.A, SW.B, VR(A), VR(B)).
  • Practice: Utilize the realistic physics and environments provided by the simulator to practice various maneuvers and improve your piloting skills without the risk of damaging a real RC model.

4. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Flysky FS-SM600 simulator, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the simulator's exterior. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the surface.
  • Storage: Store the simulator in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and excessive moisture.
  • Cable Care: Avoid sharply bending or pulling the USB cable. Store it neatly to prevent tangles and damage.
  • Dust Protection: When not in use, consider covering the simulator to protect it from dust accumulation.

5. Troubleshooting

  • Simulator Not Detected:
    • Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the simulator and your computer/device.
    • Try a different USB port.
    • Restart your computer and the simulation software.
    • Verify that the necessary drivers are installed (refer to your software's documentation).
  • Controls Not Responding Correctly:
    • Calibrate the simulator within your flight simulation software.
    • Check the mode setting (Mode 1 or Mode 2) in your software to ensure it matches your simulator's configuration.
    • Ensure no other input devices are interfering with the simulator's input.
  • Software Issues:
    • Ensure your simulation software is up to date.
    • Consult the support resources for your specific flight simulation software.
