Operating Instructions

High-Speed Data Transfer

The ORICO UFSD Series utilizes the USB 3.2 Gen1 high-speed transmission protocol, enabling rapid data transfer. You can expect Read Speeds of up to 411MB/s and Write Speeds of up to 350MB/s. This allows for the transfer of a 1GB file in less than 3 seconds.

The drive is backward-compatible with USB 2.0, allowing it to be plugged into any USB 2.0 or 3.0 port, though speeds will be limited by the slower interface.

Storage Capacity

The UFSD series offers various capacities including 64GB, 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB, providing ample space for storing a large volume of videos, photos, music, games, and other important files.

Maintenance

Safe Ejection

To prevent data corruption and ensure the longevity of your flash drive, always safely eject the device from your operating system before physically unplugging it from your computer or other devices.

Temperature Management

The USB disk may generate heat during operation, which is normal as the internal chip can withstand temperatures up to 70°C. However, prolonged operation at high temperatures can shorten the service life of the product. If the drive feels excessively hot, allow it to stand for 2-3 minutes to cool down before continued use.

Water and Drop Resistance

Thanks to its unique encapsulation technology, the ORICO UFSD flash drive is designed to be waterproof and drop-proof, offering enhanced protection for your data. Always ensure the drive is completely dry before inserting it into any device to prevent damage.

Troubleshooting

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why is the advertised capacity inconsistent with real capacity?
A: Chip capacity is calculated as 1MB=1000KB and 1GB=1000MB. However, computers use a binary algorithm where 1MB=1024KB and 1GB=1024MB, leading to a difference. Additionally, manufacturers install basic data and drivers, so the real usable capacity is approximately 91% of the advertised capacity.
Q: Why is the advertised speed inconsistent with real speed?
A: Please ensure that your computer supports the advertised speed protocol. For example, USB 2.0 (black interface) supports a maximum of 60MB/s, while USB 3.0 (blue interface) supports a maximum of 625MB/s. If the computer supports it, speed is also affected by the size, format, and quantity of the files you copy. In addition, the computer's configuration also affects performance.
Q: Can't read or copy the files?
A: Usually, the system default FAT32 disk system only supports a maximum capacity of 4GB for a single file. If you need to transfer a single file over 4GB, please reformat the disk to NTFS or exFAT format. The steps are as follows:
  1. Connect the computer.
  2. Right-click the disk and select 'Format'.
  3. Select the 'File System' and choose the NTFS or exFAT format.
  4. Click 'Start'.

User Tips

  • For optimal performance, ensure your device supports USB 3.0/3.2 Gen1. Using a USB 2.0 port will limit transfer speeds.
  • If transferring single files larger than 4GB, format the drive to NTFS or exFAT. The default FAT32 format has a 4GB file size limit.
  • Always safely eject the drive from your operating system before physical removal to prevent data loss or corruption.
  • While the drive is waterproof, ensure it is completely dry before connecting to any electronic device.
