4. Safety Warnings and Precautions

5.2. Wiring Diagram

Ensure correct wiring based on your LED strip type (3-wire CCT, 2-wire CCT, or Dimmer). Always connect the power supply to the controller's input (V+, V-) and the LED strip to the output terminals.

5.3. Connecting with a ZigBee Gateway (Network Connection)

To use the controller with a smart home system (e.g., SmartThings, Alexa, Google Home via hub), follow these steps:

  1. Connect the controller to the power source correctly.
  2. Use your ZigBee gateway's app to initiate device search. Wait for a certain period.
  3. If the gateway doesn't find the controller, try powering off and on the controller again, or reset the controller (see Section 7. Troubleshooting).
  4. Once the gateway finds the controller, add it to the specified room or group within the app.
  5. After successful network connection, you can start using the controller via the gateway.

5.4. 2.4G RF Remote Control Connection

The controller can also be directly controlled by a GLEDOPTO 2.4G RF remote control or wall switch without a ZigBee gateway.

  1. Power on the controller (within 4 seconds to proceed to the next step).
  2. Press the "On" button of any group on the RF remote control (refer to the instructions of your specific remote control for details).
  3. When the controller's color changes to warm light, it indicates a successful connection with the remote control. The light strip will flash 3 times.

6. Operation

6.1. Controller Button Functions

The controller features physical buttons for basic control:

  • Reset Button:
    • Short press once: Switch between CCT/Dimmer mode.
    • Long press for more than 2 seconds: Reset the controller (see Section 7. Troubleshooting).
  • OPT Button:
    • Short press: On/Off.
    • Short press twice: Switch the current long press function (initially for adjusting brightness; after pressing twice, it switches to adjusting color temperature).
    • Long press: Adjust color temperature/adjust brightness (function depends on the current setting from double short press).
  • External Push Switch (if connected): Functions identically to the OPT button.

Indicator Light Status:

  • Indicator light flashes slowly: CCT mode.
  • Indicator light stays on: Dimmer mode.

Note: Short press twice to switch long press function is only applicable in CCT mode.

7. Maintenance

The GLEDOPTO controller requires minimal maintenance. Keep the device clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Ensure the device is not exposed to moisture or extreme temperatures.

8. Troubleshooting and Reset Methods

8.1. Controller Not Found by Gateway

If your ZigBee gateway cannot find the controller during network connection:

  • Ensure the controller is powered on and within range of the gateway.
  • Try powering off and on the controller again.
  • Perform a reset on the controller using one of the methods below.

8.2. Reset Methods

If you experience issues or need to re-pair the controller, you can perform a reset:

Button Reset:

Press and hold the Reset button on the controller for more than 2 seconds.

Power On/Off Reset:

  1. Power on the light strip controller.
  2. Within 2 seconds, disconnect the power.
  3. Wait for at least 5 seconds to ensure a complete power-off.
  4. Repeat steps 1-3 five times.
  5. The light strip will flash 3 times, indicating that the reset is complete.

9. User Tips

  • **Gateway Compatibility:** While compatible with many ZigBee 3.0 gateways (Philips Hue, Amazon Echo Plus, SmartThings, Homey, Tuya Smart, ConBee II), some gateways may have compatibility issues or limited functionality due to continuous updates. Always check the latest compatibility list on the GLEDOPTO official website or online stores.
  • **RF Remote Control:** If you don't have a ZigBee gateway, you can still control the device using a GLEDOPTO 2.4G RF remote control or wall switch. Note that these are 2.4G RF only and not ZigBee.
  • **DC Port Current Limit:** When using the DC port for power connections, ensure the current does not exceed 3A to prevent potential damage to the controller.
  • **IKEA Compatibility:** Be aware that there are currently some known compatibility issues with IKEA smart home systems.
