6.6 Adjustable Emissivity
The TR series cameras allow you to adjust emissivity settings. This is crucial for accurate temperature readings as different materials emit infrared energy differently. Consult an emissivity table for common materials and adjust the setting in the camera's menu (TR10) or app (TR256i) accordingly.
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning the Lens: Gently wipe the lens with a soft, lint-free cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a lens cleaning solution designed for optics. Do not use abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
- Cleaning the Device Body: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the exterior of the camera. Avoid getting moisture into any openings.
- Storage: Store the camera in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for extended periods, ensure the battery is partially charged (around 50%) to prolong its lifespan.
- Battery Care (TR10): Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Recharge the battery regularly, even if the camera is not in use, to maintain battery health.
8. Troubleshooting
- Device not powering on (TR10): Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the camera to a power source and try again.
- No thermal image (TR256i): Check if the TR256i is securely connected to your Android device's USB-C port. Ensure the MILESEEY Thermal App is installed and running. Verify that your phone/tablet supports USB OTG (On-The-Go) functionality.
- Inaccurate temperature readings: Verify that the emissivity setting is correctly adjusted for the material being measured. Ensure the measurement distance is appropriate (e.g., for TR10, optimal distance is around 0.6m).
- Image appears blurry or distorted: Clean the camera lens. Ensure the object is within the camera's focus range.
- Device unresponsive: For TR10, try a soft reset by holding the power button for an extended period (e.g., 10-15 seconds) until it restarts. For TR256i, restart the app or reconnect the device.

10. User Tips
- Building Inspections: The TR series cameras are highly effective for checking private homes for heat loss, identifying insulation gaps, and detecting moisture issues.
- Optimal Measurement Distance: For the TR10, an optimal measurement distance of approximately 0.6 meters (2 feet) is recommended for the most accurate readings. While the camera can detect temperatures at greater distances, precision may decrease.
- Emissivity Settings: Always adjust the emissivity setting based on the material you are inspecting. Incorrect emissivity is a common cause of inaccurate temperature readings.
- TR256i App: Ensure your Android device's operating system is up-to-date for optimal performance with the MILESEEY Thermal App.
