1. Introduction

1.1 Package List

1.2 Product Appearance

Familiarize yourself with the different parts of your IMILAB EC5 Floodlight Camera:

• Flood Light: Provides illumination for color night vision and deterrence.
• Lens: Captures 2K video footage.
• Mic: For two-way audio communication.
• Reset Button: Used for restoring factory settings.
• Micro SD Card Slot: For local storage of video footage.
• Wall Bracket: For mounting the camera.
• Speaker: For two-way audio and siren alerts.

2. Setup

2.1 Installation

The IMILAB EC5 Floodlight Camera offers versatile installation options, including wall, ceiling, and pole mounting.

Wall Mounting

1. Attach the wall mounting positioning sticker to the desired installation location on a wall. Drill two holes at the indicated positions. The recommended drilling diameter is approximately 6.0 mm, and the drilling depth is approximately 30 mm.
2. Insert two plastic expansion nuts into the drilled holes. Place the base plate over the nuts and secure it by inserting screws into the expansion nuts.

Ceiling Mounting

1. Attach the ceiling mounting positioning sticker to the desired installation location on the ceiling. Drill two holes at the indicated positions. The recommended drilling diameter is approximately 6.0 mm, and the drilling depth is approximately 30 mm.
2. Insert two plastic expansion nuts into the drilled holes. Place the base plate over the nuts and secure it by inserting screws into the expansion nuts.

Pole Mounting

The camera can also be mounted on a pole using the provided bracket and screws.

2.2 Connecting the Device

Powering On

Insert the power supply cable into the camera's power supply port. Connect the other end of the power supply cable to a power source.

Inserting a Micro SD Card

Ensure the camera is disconnected from the power supply before inserting or removing the Micro SD card. Use a screwdriver to remove the protective case and expose the Micro SD card slot. The contact points of the Micro SD card should face downwards. Insert the Micro SD card into the slot. The camera supports Micro SD cards up to 256GB with a recommended read/write speed of at least U1/Class 10.

2.3 Connecting to Mi Home App

The IMILAB EC5 Floodlight Camera works with the Mi Home app for control and monitoring.

1. Download and install the Mi Home app by scanning the QR code below or searching for "Mi Home" in your app store.
2. If you already have the Mi Home app installed, you will be directed to the device connection page.
3. Open the Mi Home app, tap the "+" icon in the top right corner, and follow the on-screen instructions to add your device.

Note: Actual operation may differ due to Mi Home app updates. Please follow the on-screen instructions within the app.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 360° Surveillance and AI Human Tracking

The EC5 camera features a 360° rotatable lens (350° pan, 100° tilt) that automatically detects people entering the monitoring area and tracks their movement, ensuring comprehensive coverage.

3.2 2K Live View & Two-Way Audio

Monitor your home with clear 2K resolution footage. The built-in microphone and speaker enable real-time two-way audio communication with visitors or to deter intruders.

3.3 Full Color Night Vision

The light sensor automatically switches the device to night vision mode via IR-CUT based on environmental lighting changes. The built-in high-power exposure light provides colorful images even in darkness. The camera supports continuous full-color night vision or automatically switches to full color upon human detection to save power.

3.4 Auto Deterrence

The EC5 automatically deters suspects using a motion-triggered siren or flashing light. These features are built-in and do not require paid subscriptions.

3.5 Video Playback and Storage

Past videos can be viewed when a compatible Micro SD card is inserted. After inserting the card and powering on the device, the camera will automatically start recording 24/7 footage. In the Mi Home app, tap the playback button to enter the video playback page and view recordings by selecting a time period.

The camera supports local storage on a Micro SD card (up to 256GB, not included) without any subscription fees. Optional cloud storage is available for motion-triggered event clips. New users receive 90 days of free, 7-day rolling cloud storage for event clips.

3.6 Home Security and Motion Zones

The Home Security function can be enabled/disabled in the Mi Home app. The device detects and records movements within its viewing angle and pushes recordings to your client. You can set surveillance time, alert sensitivity, and alert intervals. Customize motion zones to prevent false alerts triggered by pedestrians in specific areas.

3.7 Voice Assistants and App Control

The IMILAB EC5 works with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa for hands-free operation. You can also remotely pan or tilt the camera lens for closer views and receive instant notifications through the Mi Home App.

3.8 Sharing a Video

In the Mi Home app, you can set the device as a shared device in the settings menu and invite others to watch recordings. Users must download the Mi Home app and log in to their Xiaomi account to view shared device recordings.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Restoring Factory Settings

To restore the camera to its factory settings, press and hold the reset button. The content stored on the Micro SD card will not be deleted during this process.

• Q: Does the camera work with Russian regions in the Mi Home app?
  A: Yes, the Mi Home app version from Vevus works with both Russian and Chinese regions.
• Q: Does this camera have a recording feature on NAS (Network Attached Storage)?
  A: No, this camera does not support recording to NAS.
• Q: What is the length of the power adapter cord?
  A: The power adapter cable length is 3 meters.
• Q: Can the floodlight be turned off?
  A: The camera features 'Smart Illumination' and 'Color Night Vision', implying control over the floodlight. Specific settings can be adjusted in the Mi Home app.
• Q: Is it possible to buy additional cloud storage?
  A: Yes, paid cloud storage options are available after the initial free period for new users.

8. Safety & Compliance

8.1 Precautions

• The working temperature of the device is -30°C to 60°C. Do not use the device when the temperature is too high or too low.
• For better results, avoid placing the camera in front of or next to a glass surface, a white-colored wall, or other reflective surfaces, as this may cause uneven lighting or over-exposure in recordings.
• Ensure the device is within Wi-Fi signal coverage and placed in a location with good Wi-Fi signal strength.
• Avoid placing the device near metallic objects, microwave ovens, or other objects that may cause signal interference.

8.2 FCC Statement
