7.4 Compatible Loads for Modified Sine Wave Inverters

This is a modified sine wave inverter. It is suitable for resistive loads such as:

  • Ordinary light bulbs
  • Electric kettles
  • Ovens
  • Bread machines
  • Water heaters
  • Non-resistance capacitance step-down LED lights

Appliances NOT suitable for modified sine wave inverters include:

  • Medical equipment
  • Clocks and audio devices
  • Sensitive electronics
  • Laser printers
  • Newer TVs
  • Appliances with AC motors (e.g., microwaves, refrigerators, coffee machines)
  • Hair dryers
  • Vacuum cleaners
  • Induction cookers
  • Fluorescent lamps
  • Electrical tools with sensitive electronics

8. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: The anodized aluminum case can be wiped clean with a dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or immerse the unit in water.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the cooling fans and vents are free from dust and obstructions to maintain optimal heat dissipation. The dual intelligent temperature control fans will activate automatically when the internal temperature reaches ≥45±5°C.
  • Connections: Periodically check all screw terminals and cable connections to ensure they remain tight and secure. The pluggable design allows for easy cable replacement if needed.

9. Troubleshooting

The inverter is equipped with multiple protection functions and a buzzer reminder system to alert you to potential issues:

Diagram illustrating the inverter's protection features with corresponding beep patterns: 2 beeps for Low Voltage Protection, 3 beeps for Over Voltage Protection, 4 beeps for Temperature Protection, and 5 beeps for Overload Protection.
Figure 9.1: Protection Warnings and Beep Codes
  • Input Low Voltage Shutdown Protection: Inverter shuts down if DC input voltage drops too low (e.g., 10V±0.3V for 12V system). Buzzer: 2 beeps.
  • Input High Voltage Shutdown Protection: Inverter shuts down if DC input voltage rises too high (e.g., 15.5V±0.3V for 12V system). Buzzer: 3 beeps.
  • Battery High and Low Voltage Alarm: Buzzer sounds to warn of critical battery voltage levels.
  • Overload Protection: Inverter shuts down if connected load exceeds its capacity. Buzzer: 5 beeps.
  • Output Short Circuit Protection: Protects against short circuits in the AC output.
  • Overheating Protection: Inverter shuts down if internal temperature exceeds 75°C. Buzzer: 4 beeps.

Automatic Reset Function: After an input high voltage or low voltage shutdown, the inverter will automatically restore output voltage once the input voltage returns to normal operating range.

Buzzer Reminder: If any protection is triggered, the buzzer will sound an alarm to alert the user.

Common Questions:

  • Rated Power vs. Surge Power: The inverter has a continuous rated power of 3000W, meaning it can supply 3000W of power continuously. The surge power of 6000W is a temporary peak power output, typically for a very short duration (0.1 seconds), used to start appliances with high initial power demands.

10. User Tips

  • Remote Control Cable: The remote control uses a standard RJ45 cable. If you need to increase the remote control distance, you can replace the included 4-meter cable with a longer standard RJ45 network cable.
  • Appliance Compatibility: Always verify that your appliances are compatible with a modified sine wave inverter before connecting them. Sensitive electronics or appliances with motors may require a pure sine wave inverter.
  • Battery Sizing: Use the provided battery recommendation table (Figure 6.1) to select a battery with adequate capacity for your intended use to ensure sufficient runtime.
