4. Setup Instructions

4.1 Physical Installation

  1. Choose a suitable location for your camera. It can be placed on a desk, mounted on a wall, or attached to the ceiling.
  2. Ensure the camera is within range of your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
  3. Connect the camera to a power source using the provided power adapter. The camera will power on automatically.

4.2 App Connection and Pairing

  1. Download the "Tuya Smart" APP from your mobile device's app store (available for Android and iOS).
  2. Register or log in to your Tuya Smart account.
  3. On the app's home screen, tap "Add Device" or the "+" icon.
  4. Select "Smart Camera" from the device list under "Video Surveillance".
  5. Follow the on-screen prompts:
    • Ensure the camera's indicator light is flashing quickly. If not, press and hold the Reset button (refer to Figure 3) for a few seconds until it flashes rapidly and you hear a prompt.
    • Confirm that you have a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network available and enter its password.
    • The app will generate a QR code. Position your phone approximately 15-20 cm (6-8 inches) in front of the camera lens so the camera can scan the QR code.
    • Once the camera successfully scans the code, you will hear a prompt. Tap "I Heard a Prompt" in the app.
    • The device will begin adding. Wait for the process to complete.
    • Once added, you can rename your camera and start monitoring.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Pan and Tilt Control (PTZ)

The camera offers flexible pan and tilt rotation, allowing you to adjust its viewing angle remotely through the Tuya Smart APP. Use the directional controls within the app to move the camera horizontally (355°) and vertically (80°) to monitor different areas.

5.2 Two-Way Audio

Utilize the built-in microphone and speaker for two-way communication. From the live view in the Tuya Smart APP, you can speak through your phone, and your voice will be broadcast through the camera's speaker. Similarly, you can hear audio from the camera's location.

5.3 Motion Detection and Alerts

The camera is equipped with sensitive motion detection. When movement is detected, the camera will automatically record the event and send push notifications to your Tuya Smart APP. You can customize motion detection sensitivity and alert schedules within the app settings.

5.4 Infrared Night Vision

The camera automatically switches to infrared night vision mode in low-light conditions, providing clear black-and-white video footage up to 10-15 meters. This ensures continuous surveillance even in complete darkness.

5.5 Video Storage

The camera supports two primary storage methods for your video recordings:

  • TF Card Storage: Insert a MicroSD/TF card (up to 128GB) into the designated slot (refer to Figure 3) for local recording. The camera will automatically overwrite older footage when the card is full.
  • Cloud Storage: Subscribe to cloud storage services via the Tuya Smart APP to securely store your monitoring data online.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Gently wipe the camera lens and body with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Environment: Ensure the camera is kept in a dry environment and away from extreme temperatures. Although rated IP66, it is primarily designed for indoor use.
  • Firmware Updates: Regularly check the Tuya Smart APP for available firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Power Supply: Use only the specified power adapter to prevent damage to the device.

7. Troubleshooting

Connecting to a new Wi-Fi network.If you move the camera to a new location with a different Wi-Fi network, you will need to reset the camera and re-pair it with the new Wi-Fi network using the Tuya Smart APP.
Multiple users accessing the camera.The primary account holder can share access to the camera with other users through the Tuya Smart APP's device sharing feature.

  • Optimal Placement: Given the 130° diagonal viewing angle, strategically place the camera to maximize coverage of your desired area.
