4. Setup Instructions
Follow these steps for proper assembly and initial setup of your motherboard set.
4.1 General Precautions
- Always wear an anti-static wrist strap or discharge static electricity by touching a grounded metal object before handling components.
- Ensure your power supply is disconnected from the wall outlet before installing or removing any components.
4.2 CPU Installation
Carefully open the CPU socket lever on the motherboard. Align the Intel Xeon E5 2660 V3 CPU with the LGA 2011-3 socket, ensuring the gold triangle on the CPU matches the indicator on the socket. Gently place the CPU into the socket without forcing it. Close the lever to secure the CPU.

4.3 RAM Installation
The motherboard supports DDR4 desktop memory. For optimal performance and dual-channel operation, install the two 8GB DDR4 2666MHz RAM modules into slots #1 and #4 (typically green slots) first. Ensure the memory is desktop RAM and not server memory (REG ECC RAM and desktop RAM cannot be mixed on this board).

Important Note:
- The black RAM slot on the motherboard cannot function alone.
- The included memory is specifically for desktop use and is not compatible with server memory.

4.4 Graphics Card (GPU) Installation
Insert your graphics card into the PCIe x16 slot. Ensure it is seated firmly and secure it with the case latch or screw.
4.5 Power Supply Connection
Connect the 24-pin main power connector and the CPU power connector (usually 8-pin or 4+4-pin) from your power supply to the motherboard. This platform requires a powerful power supply; ensure your power supply is at least 500W from a reputable brand.
4.6 Other Connections
Connect your storage devices (SATA SSDs/HDDs, M.2 NVMe SSD if applicable), front panel connectors (power button, reset, USB, audio), and any other peripherals.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 First Boot and OS Installation
After assembling all components, connect your monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Power on the system. You may need to enter the BIOS/UEFI setup to configure boot order or other settings before installing your operating system.
5.2 Temperature Monitoring
The motherboard does not feature a dedicated temperature control chip. Software-based temperature readings may display virtual temperatures (e.g., 110°-120°C) which are inaccurate. For actual temperature readings, use a physical thermometer. Under normal operation, the CPU temperature should not exceed 50°C.
5.3 Memory Speed Display
While the included RAM is 2666MHz, the Intel Xeon E5-2660 V3 CPU officially supports DDR4 up to 1866MHz. Therefore, the system may display the memory operating at 1866MHz in some system utilities. However, CPU-Z software should correctly report the RAM's native speed of 2666MHz.
5.4 Sleep Mode
Please note that this motherboard does not support sleep mode.
6. Maintenance
- Keep your computer case clean and free of dust to ensure proper airflow and prevent overheating.
- Regularly check and clean CPU and GPU coolers for dust buildup.
- Ensure all cables are securely connected.
- If replacing the CMOS battery, use a CR2032 type.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Atermiter Motherboard Set, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
7.1 System Instability / Blue Screen
- Issue: System crashes or displays a blue screen.
- Solution: This motherboard does not have a sensor chip. Forcibly opening sensor monitoring software or devices can cause system instability. Avoid using such tools if they cause issues.
7.2 Incorrect Temperature Readings
- Issue: Software reports extremely high CPU temperatures (e.g., 110°-120°C).
- Solution: This is a virtual temperature reading due to the lack of a dedicated sensor chip. Use a physical thermometer for accurate measurements. Normal operating temperature should be below 50°C.
7.3 RAM Not Detected or Incorrect Speed
- Issue: RAM is not detected or shows a lower speed than expected.
- Solution: Ensure RAM modules are correctly seated in the designated slots (priority slots #1 and #4). Verify that you are using desktop DDR4 RAM and not server (REG ECC) memory, as they are incompatible on this board. The E5-2660 V3 CPU officially supports up to 1866MHz, so this speed may be displayed, but CPU-Z should confirm 2666MHz.
7.4 No Power / System Fails to Boot
- Issue: System does not power on or boot.
- Solution: Confirm all power connections (24-pin ATX, CPU 8-pin) are secure. Ensure your power supply is at least 500W from a brand manufacturer, as this platform requires sufficient power.
8. User Tips
- For optimal dual-channel memory performance, install RAM modules in two adjacent slots as per the motherboard's guidelines.
- Turbo boost functionality for the CPU should work normally.
- When installing a CPU cooler, ensure you have the correct mounting bracket for the LGA 2011-3 socket.
- Be aware that the specific chipset (e.g., H81, B85, Q85) and minor aesthetic details of the motherboard may vary, as they are sent randomly based on batch.
9. Warranty and Support
The Atermiter motherboard comes with a 1-year warranty. The included CPU and RAM also carry a 1-year warranty. For any technical assistance or warranty claims, please contact the seller or manufacturer directly.
