This manual provides detailed instructions for setting up, operating, and maintaining your HM-75 microphone.

3. Product Overview

Familiarize yourself with the various parts and controls of your VGC HM-75 Bluetooth Hand Microphone.

3.1 Front View and Controls

4. Setup

4.1 Charging the Microphone

Before first use, fully charge the HM-75 microphone.

  1. Connect the supplied USB charging cable to the Micro USB port on the microphone.
  2. Connect the other end of the USB cable to a compatible USB power source (e.g., computer USB port, USB wall adapter).
  3. The charging indicator (if present) will show charging status. Once fully charged, the indicator will change or turn off.

4.2 Attaching the Belt Clip or Mounting Bracket

The HM-75 can be easily attached to your clothing or a vehicle using the provided accessories.

  1. Align the belt clip or mounting bracket with the screw holes on the back of the microphone.
  2. Secure the accessory using the provided screws.

4.3 Bluetooth Pairing

To use the HM-75 wirelessly, it must be paired with your compatible two-way radio.

  1. Power On: Press and hold the 'M' (Menu) button or 'OK' button for a few seconds to power on the HM-75.
  2. Enter Pairing Mode: Navigate through the HM-75's menu using the 'M', 'OK', and Up/Down buttons to find the 'Pairing' option. Select it to put the microphone into pairing mode. The display (Figure 3.1) shows 'Pairing' as a menu option.
  3. Activate Bluetooth on Radio: On your compatible VR-N7500, N65, N75, or Benshi AP-2 radio, activate its Bluetooth function and search for nearby devices.
  4. Select HM-75: From your radio's Bluetooth device list, select 'HM-75' (or similar name) to initiate the connection.
  5. Confirm Connection: Once paired, the HM-75 display or an indicator light will confirm the successful connection.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

  • To Power On: Press and hold the 'M' (Menu) button or 'OK' button for approximately 3 seconds until the display lights up.
  • To Power Off: Press and hold the 'M' (Menu) button or 'OK' button for approximately 3 seconds until the display turns off.

5.2 Push-to-Talk (PTT) Function

The PTT button is located on the side of the microphone.

  1. To transmit, press and hold the PTT button. Speak clearly into the microphone.
  2. Release the PTT button to stop transmitting and return to receive mode.

5.3 Menu Navigation

Use the 'M', 'OK', and Up/Down buttons to navigate the microphone's internal menu for settings such as pairing, GPS status, or compass (if available on your model).

  • Press 'M' to enter the main menu.
  • Use the Up/Down buttons to scroll through options.
  • Press 'OK' to select an option.
  • Press 'EXIT' (P2 button) to go back or exit the menu.

5.4 Volume Control

Volume control is typically managed via the connected radio. However, the Up/Down buttons on the HM-75 may also adjust the microphone's internal speaker volume or act as a shortcut for radio volume when not in menu mode.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

  • Wipe the microphone's exterior with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth.
  • Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents.
  • Avoid getting moisture into any openings.

6.2 Storage

  • Store the microphone in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • If storing for an extended period, ensure the battery is partially charged (around 50%) to prolong its lifespan.

6.3 Battery Care

  • Charge the battery regularly, even if not in frequent use, to maintain optimal battery health.
  • Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.
