4. Maintenance

Battery Replacement

  • Transmitter (CR2032): When the LED indicator on the transmitter no longer lights up or the range decreases significantly, it's time to replace the CR2032 battery. Use a small tool to open the battery compartment and replace it with a new CR2032 battery.
  • Receiver (AAA): If the receiver's indicator light is dim or it fails to respond, replace the 2 AAA batteries.

Cleaning and Storage

  • Wipe the units with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight.
  • Store the shutter release in a dry, cool place when not in use. If storing for an extended period, remove the AAA batteries from the receiver to prevent leakage.

5. Troubleshooting

  • Device not responding: Check battery levels in both the transmitter and receiver. Ensure they are correctly installed.
  • Reduced range or intermittent connection: Replace batteries. Ensure there are no major obstructions between the transmitter and receiver. Avoid strong electromagnetic interference.
  • Camera not firing: Verify that the shutter release cable is securely connected to both the camera and the receiver. Check camera settings to ensure it's in a compatible mode (e.g., single shot, continuous, bulb). Ensure the correct cable (C6/C8) is being used for your specific camera model.
  • Compatibility issues: Double-check the compatibility table in Section 2. If your camera model is not listed, the device may not be compatible. Contact customer support for clarification.

7. User Tips

  • Minimize Camera Shake: Always use the remote for critical shots to avoid any movement from pressing the camera's shutter button directly.
  • Check Camera Settings: Before shooting, ensure your camera's drive mode (single, continuous, timer, bulb) matches the desired operation with the remote.
  • Battery Life: Carry spare AAA batteries for the receiver, especially during long shooting sessions, as they are not included in the package.
  • Optimal Placement: For wireless use, ensure the receiver is positioned where it has a clear line of sight or minimal obstruction to the transmitter for best range performance.
  • Wired Backup: The receiver can function as a wired remote, which is useful if transmitter batteries run out or in environments with heavy wireless interference.
