Thank you for purchasing an AODELAN product.

The AODELAN Wireless Remote Control BR-E1A is compatible with Bluetooth low energy technology. Pairing the BR-E1A with a Bluetooth-compatible Canon® digital camera* enables wireless operations, including shooting still photos and movies, focusing with AF, and zooming (the feature of zooming only works when using with the power zoom adapter, sold separately).

Please read this user manual as well as the user manual provided with your camera and the power zoom adapter which works with BR-E1A before use.

For Your Safety

Before using your product, please read the following safety precautions carefully to ensure correct and safe use:

  • Do not insert your finger into the hole of the product. It may become stuck.
  • Do not disassemble or attempt to repair it.
  • Do not use the product in the presence of flammable or explosive gas.
  • The product is not waterproof. Please keep away from rain, snow, and high humidity conditions.

Connecting the Remote Controller and Camera

  1. Set the camera to the pairing standby mode.
  2. Press and hold the <W> button and <T> button on the BR-E1A simultaneously for three seconds or more.
  3. The indicator lamp on BR-E1A blinks, and pairing starts.
  4. The indicator lamp lights up when pairing is complete. The BR-E1A is registered in the camera and a message is displayed on the LCD monitor.

Precautions for Use

  • If pairing fails, the lamp blinks rapidly. In such a case, press and hold the <W> button and <T> button again.
  • Pairing BR-E1A with two or more cameras simultaneously is not possible.
  • You cannot pair multiple BR-E1A to one camera.

Shooting Still Photos

  1. Set the camera for still photo shooting and set the drive mode of the camera to (remote control). **
  2. Set the shutter release timing/movie shooting switch on the BR-E1A to the (immediate release) or 2-sec. delay release) position.
  3. Press the shutter release button*** on the BR-E1A; the camera automatically focuses (AF), and the indicator lamp on BR-E1A lights up. (The camera needs to be set to auto focus mode. **)
  4. When the focus is achieved, the camera takes a picture immediately (if the shutter release timing/movie shooting switch is set to the immediate release position) or in 2 seconds delay (if the switch is set to the 2-sec. delay release position).

Precautions for Use

  • When focusing manually, the indicator lamp lights up when the picture is taken.
  • Depending on the camera, the setup method for remote control shooting may differ. Refer to the Instruction Manual for your camera.

Shooting Movies

  1. Set the camera for movie shooting and set [Remote control] to [Enable] from the menu screen of the camera.
  2. Set the shutter release timing/movie shooting switch on the BR-E1A to the (movie shooting) position.
  3. Press the shutter release button*** on the BR-E1A; the indicator lamp lights up and movie shooting starts.
  4. Press the shutter release button again; the indicator lamp blinks and movie shooting stops.

  • Depending on the camera, the setup method for remote control shooting may differ. Refer to the Instruction Manual for your camera.

Operating the Power Zoom Adapter (sold separately)

  1. Attach the Power Zoom Adapter to the lens, then attach the lens to the camera. Set the zoom mode switch of the Power Zoom Adapter to the <PZ> position. **
  2. Set the drive mode of the camera to (remote control). **
  3. Press the <W> button to zoom to the wide-angle side or the <T> button to zoom to the telephoto side.

Precautions for Use

  • Depending on the camera, the setup method for remote control shooting may differ. Refer to the Instruction Manual for your camera.
  • During viewfinder shooting, the Power Zoom Adapter cannot be used.
