4. Setup Instructions
The Tenda PH3 AV1000 Powerline Adapters are designed for easy, plug-and-play installation. No complex configuration is required.
- Connect the First Adapter: Plug one PH3 adapter into a power outlet near your internet router. Connect an Ethernet cable from your router's LAN port to the Gigabit LAN port on the PH3 adapter.

Figure 4.1: Plugging in the PH3 Adapter - Connect the Second Adapter: Plug the second PH3 adapter into a power outlet in the room where you need network access.

Figure 4.2: Hand plugging in the PH3 Adapter - Connect Your Device: Connect an Ethernet cable from the Gigabit LAN port on the second PH3 adapter to your device (e.g., smart TV, PC, game console).
- Verify Connection: The adapters will automatically establish a connection. Check the LED indicators on both adapters. A green PLC LED indicates a strong connection, while a red LED indicates a weak connection.
Important Notes:
- For optimal performance, plug the powerline adapters directly into a wall outlet. Avoid power strips, surge protectors, or extension cords, as these can interfere with powerline communication.
- Powerline adapters must be on the same electrical circuit to communicate.
- You can add more PH3 adapters to expand your network further.

5. Operating Instructions
Once set up, the Tenda PH3 adapters operate automatically to provide a high-speed network connection. There are no specific operating modes to select.
- Network Access: Your connected device will automatically detect the wired network connection provided by the powerline adapter.
- LED Indicators: The LEDs on the adapter provide status information:
- Power LED: Indicates power status.
- PLC LED: Indicates powerline connection status and quality (Green: Good, Red: Weak, Off: No connection).
- LAN LED: Indicates Ethernet connection status to your device.

Figure 5.1: Tenda PH3 Adapter Components and LEDs - Power Saving: The adapter will automatically enter a power-saving sleep mode when no network activity is detected or the connected Ethernet cable is disconnected, reducing power consumption to approximately 0.38W.

6. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Tenda PH3 Powerline Adapters:
- Keep the adapters in a well-ventilated area.
- Avoid exposing the adapters to extreme temperatures or humidity.
- Clean the adapters with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
- Ensure the adapters are plugged directly into wall outlets and not into power strips or extension cords.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Tenda PH3 Powerline Adapters, try the following steps:
- No Power: Ensure the adapter is securely plugged into a working power outlet. Check if the Power LED is on.
- No Powerline Connection (PLC LED off or red):
- Ensure both adapters are plugged into wall outlets on the same electrical circuit.
- Avoid plugging adapters into power strips, surge protectors, or extension cords. Try plugging them directly into wall outlets.
- Move the adapters to different outlets to find a clearer electrical path.
- Press the Pair/RST button on both adapters within two minutes to re-establish pairing.
- Slow Speed:
- Check the PLC LED indicator. If it's red, the signal is weak. Try moving the adapters to different outlets or closer to each other.
- Ensure there are no high-power electrical appliances (e.g., washing machines, refrigerators) on the same circuit that might cause interference.
- Verify that your internet service provider (ISP) is delivering the expected speed to your router.
- No Internet Access on Connected Device:
- Ensure the Ethernet cable between the adapter and your device is securely connected. The LAN LED on the adapter should be lit.
- Verify that your router has an active internet connection.
- Restart your router, then restart the powerline adapters.
