Important Notes:
- A Neutral wire is required for the module to function.
- The module only supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks.
- No separate hub is required for Wi-Fi control.
6. Setup
6.1 App Pairing (Smart Life/Tuya App)
- Download the "Smart Life" or "Tuya Smart" app from your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android).
- Register or log in to your account.
- Power on the curtain module. The Wi-Fi indicator light on the module should be blinking rapidly (if not, press and hold the reset button on the module for 5 seconds until it blinks rapidly).
- In the app, tap '+' to add a new device.
- Select "Curtain Switch" or "Curtain Module" from the device list.
- Follow the in-app instructions to connect the module to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Ensure your phone is also connected to the same 2.4GHz network.
- Once successfully added, you can rename the device and assign it to a room.
6.2 RF Remote Pairing
This module is built-in with RF433 frequency and can be controlled by an RF433 remote controller with 1527 encoding.

Figure 3: RF Remote Control Function Description
6.2.1 Channel Setting (for 9-channel remote)
- Press the 'SET' button on the remote. The digital tube will flash, indicating setup mode.
- Press the '<' button to increase the channel value.
- Press the '>' button to decrease the channel value.
- When the desired channel is set, press the 'SET' button again to exit setup mode. The digital tube will stop flashing.
6.2.2 Transmit Code
To transmit a signal from the remote to the module:
- Press any key (e.g., '<', '||', '>') on the remote while it is NOT in setup mode.
- The red indicator in the lower right corner of the remote will flash rapidly, indicating it is transmitting.

6.3 Curtain Calibration
Calibration ensures accurate percentage control of your curtains. This is done via the Smart Life/Tuya App.

Figure 4: Curtain Calibration in App
- Open the Smart Life/Tuya app and select your curtain module.
- Navigate to the settings or calibration section within the device interface.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to calibrate the curtain's open and close limits. This typically involves fully opening and fully closing the curtain and confirming these positions in the app.
7. Operation
7.1 App Control
The Smart Life/Tuya app provides comprehensive control over your curtain module.

Figure 5: Smart APP Remote Control
- Open/Close: Tap the 'Open' or 'Close' buttons in the app to fully open or close your curtains.

8. User Tips
- For optimal performance, ensure your Wi-Fi network is stable and operating on the 2.4GHz band.
- If using an RF433 remote, confirm it uses 1527 encoding for compatibility.
- When calibrating, ensure the curtains move freely to their full open and closed positions for accurate percentage control.
- If you change your Wi-Fi network or password, you will need to reconfigure the module through the app.
- The module is versatile and can be used with various types of curtains, shutters, and blinds, provided they have a compatible 4-wire AC motor.
9. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Solution |
|---|---|
| Module cannot be configured/paired with app |
|
| RF remote control not working |
|
| Curtain calibration not working correctly |
|
| No control when Wi-Fi is off | You can still control the device using your traditional curtain switch (if installed). The module will automatically reconnect to the Wi-Fi network once it becomes active again. |
| Module does not respond to commands |
|
| Cannot control percentage of opening/closing via Alexa | Ensure the device is properly calibrated in the Smart Life/Tuya app and linked correctly to Alexa. Use specific commands like "Alexa, open [Curtain Name] to 50%". |
10. Maintenance
- Keep the module clean and free from dust. Use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning.
- Avoid exposing the module to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight.
- Regularly check wiring connections for any signs of wear or looseness.
- Ensure your Smart Life/Tuya app is updated to the latest version for optimal performance and features.
