4. Setup Instructions
4.1. Raspberry Pi Installation (3-Step Simple Installation)
The UPi06 Max is designed for easy integration with your Raspberry Pi. Follow these steps to install your Raspberry Pi into the case:
- Prepare Mini Boards: Use the provided mini boards to replace standard HDMI/mini HDMI and USB-C power cables. Select the appropriate HDMI Board (HDMI-D for RPi 4, HDMI-A for RPi 2/3) and Power Board (Type C for RPi 4, Micro USB for RPi 2/3) for your Raspberry Pi model.
- Connect Touch Cables: Connect the touch cables. You can either plug them in directly or solder them for a more permanent solution. Refer to the detailed manual for specific connection points if soldering.
- Secure Raspberry Pi: Carefully place your Raspberry Pi into the case, ensuring all connections are secure. Attach the back cover and secure it with the provided screws.

4.2. Initial Connection (1-Cable Easy Connection)
After installing your Raspberry Pi, the UPi06 Max simplifies connectivity. You only need one cable to power up the entire unit.
- Connect the provided USB-C to USB-C cable or USB-A to USB-C cable (depending on your power source) to the UPi06 Max and a suitable power adapter.
- Ensure your Raspberry Pi is properly seated and connected internally.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Power On/Off and Menu Navigation
The monitor features 5 physical buttons for control: Power, Menu, Down, Up, and Exit. Use these buttons to power the device on/off and navigate through the on-screen display (OSD) menu to adjust settings.
5.2. Touch Screen Functionality
The UPi06 Max features a precise and accurate 10-point multi-touch capacitive screen. This allows for intuitive interaction with your Raspberry Pi's operating system or other connected devices.
5.3. Vertical Touch Rotation
For applications requiring a portrait display, the UPi06 Max allows you to rotate the touch function to 90°, 180°, or 270° directly from the monitor's menu. This eliminates the need to modify configuration files on your Raspberry Pi.

5.4. Built-in Cooling System
The case includes a 2-way in and out air vent with a built-in cooling fan to maintain optimal operating temperatures for your Raspberry Pi. The cooling fan's default state is off and needs to be turned on via the monitor's menu.

*Note: The cooling fan is off by default and needs to be activated in the menu. Exercise caution when opening the back cover to avoid damaging the fan power cable.
5.5. VESA Mounting and Stand Holder
The UPi06 Max features an 80° foldable stand for desktop use and 4 M4 screw holes for VESA mounting, providing flexible placement options.

5.6. Wide Compatibility
The monitor is widely compatible with various operating systems and devices, including:
- Operating Systems: Raspbian, Linux, Ubuntu, Windows XP/7/8/10, macOS 9/10, Android, Debian, Kali, Kodi.
- Devices: Raspberry Pi 2/3/4/Zero, Xbox One S X, PS4 Pro 2/3, Nintendo Switch, iPhone, Samsung, Huawei Mate Honor, Xiaomi, OPPO, OnePlus.

5.7. Various Use Cases
Beyond Raspberry Pi integration, the UPi06 Max can serve as a versatile display:
- Laptop External Screen: Extend or mirror your laptop/PC display via HDMI or USB-C.
- Game Console Display: Connect to game consoles like Nintendo Switch, PS4, or Xbox via HDMI or USB-C.
- Lapdock for Android: Empower Android 10 mobile phones into a laptop-like experience.

6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean the screen and case. For stubborn marks, dampen the cloth slightly with water or a screen-safe cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the monitor in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Cable Management: Ensure cables are not kinked or strained to prevent damage.
7. Troubleshooting
- Q: The screen is not turning on.
- A: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the monitor and a working power outlet. Verify that the power button on the monitor has been pressed.
- Q: The touch function is not working.
- A: Check all touch cables are correctly connected. For Raspberry Pi, ensure the touch drivers are properly installed or that the touch cable is correctly configured. If using with another device, ensure it supports touch input via the connected interface (e.g., USB-C for touch data).
- Q: The cooling fan is not running.
- A: The cooling fan is off by default. Navigate to the monitor's OSD menu and enable the fan control option. Ensure the fan power cable is not damaged or disconnected.
- Q: How do I rotate the screen for portrait mode?
- A: You can rotate the touch function to 90°/180°/270° directly from the monitor's menu. Look for a "Touch Rotation" option in the display settings.
- Q: Is the case made of aluminum or plastic?
- A: The case is made of ABS plastic, which is durable and of good quality.
- Q: Are drivers required for the touchscreen?
- A: No, the monitor is driver-free for most compatible operating systems.
- Q: Can the screen be turned off without turning off the Raspberry Pi?
- A: Yes, you can turn off the screen using the monitor's power button independently of the Raspberry Pi.
8. User Tips
- Fan Control: Remember to manually enable the cooling fan through the monitor's menu for optimal Raspberry Pi performance, especially during intensive tasks.
- Touch Cable Options: For a more robust and permanent setup, consider soldering the touch cables if you are comfortable with electronics work. Otherwise, the plug-in option is suitable for beginners.
- Power Supply: The monitor requires a 12V 2A power supply. Ensure your Raspberry Pi receives adequate power, especially if using a power-hungry model like the RPi 4, as the monitor's power input also supplies the Pi.
- Screen Off without RPi Off: The screen can be turned off independently of the Raspberry Pi, similar to a tablet, by using the monitor's power button.
