SONY SMI-3081 Graphics Overlay System
INTRODUCTION
The SONY VGA Video/Graphics
- Overlay System is a high-resolution, non-interlaced graphics system and video-overlay board set that meets and exceeds industry graphics standards by offering a variety of graphic and character display modes including CGA/EGA/VGA and Advanced VGA.
- The two-slot computer card set can be added to any IBM” PC”, PC-XT”, and PC-AT™ compatible computers.
Advanced VGA Graphics Capability
- Up to 256 simultaneous colors can be displayed at a sharp 640 x 480 resolution in addition to an array of standard CGA, EGA, and VGA graphic and character modes. The total color palette available is 256,000 colors.
Graphics Superimposition over NTSC Video
- A variety of graphic and character modes including VGA can be superimposed over standard video images.
Non-Interlace Display
- Flicker-free display of high-resolution overlay graphics allows realistic graphic representation in all applications. This is especially valuable in simulation programs.
IBM InfoWindow™ Emulation
- The SMI-3081 allows practically any MS-DOS*. based computer to run most of the hundreds of off-the-shelf courseware titles designed for the IBM InfoWindow system.
Control Program Software (SMW-3060)
- Advanced software provides videodisc, touch screen, display mode, and superimposed interfaces for simplified control of easily customized configurations.
