5 PUTTING INTO OPERATION
The connection process of ZigBee devices is referred to as “inclusion”. The disconnection process is referred to as “exclusion” Both processes must be initiated by the gateway. Behaviour in the ZigBee Network The gateway serves as a base for the ZigBee network in order to communicate with other ZigBee certified devices and/or applications from other manufacturers. All the network nodes which are not battery powered, regardless of their manufacturer, function as repeaters and improve the reliability of the wireless ZigBee network. Network Security Your gateway can communicate encrypted with other ZigBee devices when they also support encrypted communication. If this is not the case, communication is completed unencrypted. The following sections describe the procedure using the ET HomeLink app for the Android operating system. The procedure may differ for the iOS operating system.
INFORMATION The following screenshots show the app at the time of publication of this operating manual. Newer versions of the app may differ in appearance and content. Please note that parts illustrated in the screenshots could deviate in appearance from your products.
