    Manuals+ clarified question
    Question

Can I manually enter card details (number, CVV, and zip code) on the Zettle Reader 2?

    Answer

The Zettle Reader 2 is primarily designed for Chip & PIN and contactless payments (including Apple, Samsung, and Google Pay). While the physical reader itself is used for inserting or tapping cards, manual entry of card details is typically handled through the PayPal Zettle: Point of Sale app on your smartphone or tablet rather than the keypad on the reader itself.

    To process a manual payment:

    • Open the Zettle app on your mobile device.
    • Add the amount or items to the cart.
    • Tap Charge.
    • Select Manual Card Entry (if available in your region/account settings) as the payment method.
    • Enter the card number, expiry date, and CVV code directly into the app.

Please note that manual entry often carries different transaction fees compared to card-present (dipped or tapped) transactions. For specific account help, you can visit paypal.com/instorehelp.
