Frequently Asked Questions
With a 9V battery, how does this operate? At the bottom of the keypad, there are two terminals, yet they are both “male.” so a 9v battery cannot be connected.
The keypad contains a backup connection for a 9V battery, which powers the device.
What should my next iPhone app be? During setup, I located the August app and used it. However, there are numerous Yale apps. What are the authorized apps?
August’s app. To arrange it, I had to contact Yale. Call Amazon first, and they’ll put you in touch.
Can I use Ring Home Security with this?
It depends on the type of home security you mean. It is merely a keyless lock that is accessible online from a distance. Assigning each person their own code is possible because it can accommodate numerous codes for opening. However, it is not a home security system.
I’m buying the ring alarm pro, and I want a smart lock that works with both apple home kit and the alarm system. Does this apply to both?
Yes, however you must link it with zigbee, z-wave, or Wi-Fi.
Does Xfinity Home support this lock?
You need a Zigbee Smart Module to utilise this lock with Xfinity Home (item number AYR202-ZB-HA.) As an alternative, you can get a smart lock that costs the same as a Zigbee module (YRD256-HA2-BSP).
What occurs if the battery in a Yale lock dies?
If the batteries run out, just replace them and go on using the Yale Assure Lock SL as you were before the batteries expired. Your lock codes and history are safe without batteries because all of your information is securely kept on the Yale app.
Does the Yale Assurance Lock SL require Wi-Fi?
The lock can be used without Wi-Fi. This particular model includes a touchpad that lights up to facilitate the entry of the pre-programmed passcode in addition to 2 physical keys for emergency use (or whenever you desire to utilize the keys).
Without Wi-Fi, can I install a Yale smart lock?
Your home’s Nest Yale Lock operates a little differently than other Nest items. Wi-Fi is not used by your lock. Instead, it communicates with Nest Connect or Nest Guard using a low-power connection.
What occurs if a smart lock’s battery goes out?
Prior to losing power, your Smart Lock will send you multiple weeks’ worth of low battery notifications. The key will still function even if your Smart Lock completely shuts down before you can change the batteries. You still use the same deadbolt key; the Smart Lock does not alter the key required.
Why does the battery in my Yale lock keep dying?
Un-enroll from the hub network and re-enroll to restart troubleshooting. Battery drain may be caused by too much space between the lock and the panel or hub if the device is correctly linked. A repeater is needed to amplify the signal if there are more than 20 feet between the device and the panel or hub.
