Introduction

To make the August app compatible with your Yale Assure Lock or Lever, upgrade it. With the Connected by August Kit, you can lock/unlock, share access, and view visitors from anywhere using the August app! Your Assure Lock will automatically unlock as you get close to the door and relock once the door is shut for maximum convenience. With voice assistants like Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, or Siri, you may lock, unlock, or check your current status.

Tip

  1. Tap ‘Set up a Device’ from the app menu.
  2. Scan the QR code located on the Quick Start Guide, or on your packaging. If you cannot find your QR code, tap “Can’t scan the code?” and enter your serial number (begins with M1).

    Tip: If your Serial Number has an O, it is the letter, not the number 0
  3. Follow the in-app steps to install your Assure Lock
  4. Insert the 4 AA batteries.
  5. Create a master entry code by waking the keypad and pressing it. Then enter your desired code. Press to save.
  6. Temporarily remove the batteries and insert the Yale Access Smart Module into the slot above the battery compartment.‎‎Yale-Security-AYR202-CBA-KIT-Wi-Fi-and-Bluetooth-Upgrade-Kit-Lock-and-Levers-Fig-3
    Re-install the batteries.
  7. Register your Smart Module by entering your master entry code then. Press ‘7’ and then Press ‘1’ and then
  8. Install DoorSense™ by following the steps shown in the Yale Access App.
  9. Enable HomeKit, if desired, by following the steps in the Yale Access App. You will need the HomeKit QR code which is on your white smart module.
    Tip: The HomeKit QR code has a house icon with it.
  10. Set up your Connect Wi-Fi Bridge by scanning its QR code. After scanning, plug in your Connect.

  11. Frequently Asked Questions

Does it function with all nr and zw2 yrd226 models?

Yes! Using this kit, you may upgrade either of those devices to include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Can you create temporary access codes with time and day schedules?

Yes! You can program recurring access for particular days/times each week in the Yale Access app.

Does it work with the Yale YMF40?

No, it only works with Yale Assure Locks.

Does Yrd226-ha2-619 support it?

It does. Simply swap out the Smart Module in the battery compartment of your lock. You must additionally configure the Wi-Fi Connect Bridge that comes with your lock in order to access it remotely.

Is this compatible with the MyQ app, or is it only August?

I’m not sure if it functions with Myq, August, and Apple Home.

Is this compatible with Amazon Key?

It is compatible with Apple Home Kit and Amazon.

Does it operate outside of the USA? How frequently do batteries need to be changed?

Yes, it functions outside of the USA, and the automated locking makes the battery survive for months.

Does this let you know when an effort fails?

Yes, it will inform you if the device is not responding or if there is a connectivity problem.

Can user codes be manually removed from the device or only from the phone app?

Yes, you may use the app to delete, modify, and add alternative codes (one-time access, scheduled access).

Is it compatible with rings?

I don’t believe so; it only applies to your door lock.
