Product Overview
Note: The smart plug only supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks. 5 GHz Wi-Fi networks are not supported.
How to Use
- When using for the first time, connect the smart plug to the power supply socket.
- The smart plug turns on successfully when the indicator is on.
- Once the smart plug is connected to power, press the on/off button to turn it on/off. Press and hold the on/off button for five seconds until the indicator blinks orange, then the smart plug is restored to factory settings.
Indicator status descriptions
- Blinking blue: Connecting or updating Keeping blue: Connected successfully
- Blinking orange: Awaiting connection
- Keeping orange: Network error (restart the router or contact your network operator)

Connecting with the Mi Home/Xiaomi Home App
- This product works with the Mi Home/Xiaomi Home app*. Use the Mi Home/Xiaomi Home app to control your device, and to interact with other smart home devices.
- Scan the QR code to download and install the app. You will be directed to the connection setup page if the app is installed already. Or search for “Mi Home/Xiaomi Home” in the app store to download and install it.
- Open the Mi Home/Xiaomi Home app, tap “+” on the upper right, and then follow the instructions to add your device.
- When waiting for connection, the indicator will blink orange. It remains blue after a successful connection.
- You can turn the smart plug on/off or set the on/off time via the app.
The app is referred to as Xiaomi Home app in Europe (except for Russia). The name of the app displayed on your device should be taken as the default.
Note: The version of the app might have been updated, please follow the instructions based on the current app version.
Double-press Countdown
- On the plug-in page of the Xiaomi Smart Plug 2 in the Mi Home/Xiaomi Home app, tap the “..” on the upper right and select double-press countdown in the menu to set the time.
- Double press the on/off button on the smart plug. The indicator will blink blue twice to indicate that the smart plug has entered the countdown state. Double press again to end the countdown.
Precautions
- The suitable operating temperature range is between 0°C and 35°C. Please do not use the smart plug in an environment with temperatures above or below the specified range.
- The smart plug is a precision electronic product. To ensure its normal operation, do not use the smart plug in an environment with high humidity level nor allow water to get into it.
- Make sure the smart plug is used in an area with a strong Wi-Fi signal. Do not place it near such objects as metal objects and microwave ovens, which may affect its Wi-Fi signal.
- Store and use the smart plug away from heat, sparks, open flames, and other sources of ignition.
- The maximum power output of the smart plug is 3680 W. Please ensure the total power of electrical appliances connected to the smart plug does not exceed the maximum power.
WARNINGS:
- The smart plug should not be used in locations with high humidity level such as bathrooms. Any use or safety problems arising from such usage shall be at the user’s own risk.
- Multiple smart plugs cannot be connected together.
- The smart plug should not be covered when used.
- The smart plug is only de-energized when unplugged.
- The smart plug is intended for indoor use only.
Under normal use of conditions, this equipment should be kept a separation distance of at least 20 cm between the antenna and the body of the user.
