Product Usage Instructions

Create a Custom Profile for Your PTAC:
Follow these steps to create a custom profile for your PTAC using the EC Tool Pro App:

1. Tap Create, enter your property name, and tap Next.
2. Enter your profile name and tap Next.
3. Select your thermostat’s model (T961NN50) and tap Next.
4. Select the type of PTAC (Conventional System or Heat Pump) and the number of stages supported.
5. Review/update individual profile settings and tap Save.

Mount and Wire Your Thermostat:
Follow these steps to mount and wire your thermostat:

1. Power down the PTAC and remove the cover.
2. Confirm Dip Switch #2 is in the UP position for Wall Thermostat control.
3. If replacing an old thermostat, take a photo of wire connections and note wire colors.
4. Install the thermostat wall plate:
   • Mounting Directly to the Wall:
     1. Mark screw positions for the wall plate.
     2. Attach the wall plate using provided screws and anchors.
5. Direct Wall Mounting with Deco Plate Kit:
   1. Mark screw positions for the deco plate.
   2. Attach the deco plate and wall plate using provided screws and anchors.

Download the EC Tool Pro App for iOS or Android

The EC Tool Pro App will be used to configure your VTech T961 thermostat to control the PTAC. Scan the QR code or click the link of one of the App stores.

Create a Custom Profile for Your PTAC

1. Tap Create, then enter your property name (for example Property 1) and tap Next.
2. Tap Create when the message Create a new profile! pops up. Enter your profile name and tap Next.
3. Tap to select your thermostat’s model, T961NN50, and tap Next.
4. Select the type of PTAC the thermostat will control; PTAC-Conventional System or PTAC-Heat Pump, then tap Next to select the number of stages supported by your PTAC. Tap next, then review/update the store your profile.

Mount and Wire Your Thermostat

1. Power down the PTAC and remove the cover.
2. Confirm that Dip Switch #2 is in the UP (On) position which enables the Wall Thermostat control.
3. If replacing an old/existing thermostat, carefully remove the cover from your old thermostat and take a photo of the wires while still connected to the old thermostat. Make note of the wire colors that are attached to each terminal (R, C, G, Y, W, etc…). Disconnect the wires from the old thermostat.
4. Install the thermostat wall plate.

Mounting Directly to the Wall:

1. Mark the screw positions for the wall plate
   Hold the wall plate up to the wall where you want the thermostat to be mounted. Make sure that the wire bundle aligns near the center of the wall plate. Verify the plate is level with a bubble level, then mark the screw positions through the screw holes in the wall plate.
2. Attach the wall plate
   Using your marks as a reference, drill 2 holes and install the provided wall anchors. Route the wires through the opening in the center of the wall plate, then secure it to the wall with the provided screws. The slots in the wall plate will help to compensate for any minor misalignment.

Direct Wall Mounting with Deco Plate Kit

1. Mark the screw positions for the deco plate
   Hold the deco plate up to the wall where you want the thermostat to be mounted. Make sure that the wire bundle aligns near the center of the deco plate. Verify the plate is level with a bubble level, then mark the screw positions through the screw holes in the deco plate.
2. Attach the deco plate and wall plate
   1. Push the cover towards the deco plate until it clicks into place.
   2. Using your marks as a reference, drill 2 holes and install the provided wall anchors. Route the wires through the opening in the center of the deco plate, then the wall plate.
   3. Align the screw holes and secure them to the wall with the provided screws. The slots in the wall plate will help to compensate for any minor misalignment.

Mounting to a Junction Plate:

1. Attach the deco plate and the wall plate
   1. Attach the deco plate to the junction box with the provided junction box screws.
   2. Push the cover towards the deco plate until it clicks into place.
   3. Attach the wall plate to the deco plate with the provided T locks.
   4. Route the wires in the junction box through the openings in the centers of the deco plate and the wall plate.

• Attach the thermostat to the mounting plate
• Swing the thermostat into position by engaging the lugs at the top of the wall plate before pushing it carefully home into its plug-in terminal block.
• Lock the thermostat into place by tightening the 2 Phillips screws located on the bottom edge of the thermostat.

Turn on the power to your HVAC system. When the thermostat powers up, install your saved profile from the EC Tool Pro app into the thermostat.

• Tap the Installation tab, then locate the profile you want to install.
• Enter your room name and tap Next.
• Tap Next after previewing the wiring diagram.

Tap Start, then place the NFC area on your phone against the thermostat and adjust the position until the profile transfer starts. Hold your phone steadily until the transfer is complete and the app shows a prompt of success.
