Product Usage Instructions
Getting Started
- Exit from Try-me mode:
- Press the Mode Button to turn the device ON.
- Loosen the screw on the Battery Compartment Cover and slide it open to access the Reset button.
- Press and hold the Reset button for 1 second using a paper clip to exit Try-me mode.
- Set up a new passcode, date, and time as instructed.
- Quick Operation Guide:
- Press the Mode button to turn the diary ON.
- Enter the passcode to unlock it.
- Press Record button to record a voice note entry.
- Press Playback button to listen to recorded entries.
- Toggle between modes using the Mode button and confirm choices with the Selection Buttons and OK Button.
Battery Removal and Installation
- Make sure the unit is turned OFF.
- Loosen the screw on the back to open the battery cover.
- Remove old batteries if present.
- Install 3 new AA batteries following the diagram inside the battery box.
- Secure the battery cover and tighten the screw.

Unlock the Packaging Locks
- Turn the packaging locks anticlockwise several times.
- Pull out the packaging locks and discard.

GETTING STARTED
Exit from Try-me mode
The diary is in try-me mode in the packaging. Press the Mode Button to turn the device ON, loosen the screw on the Battery Compartment Cover, then slide to open it. You will see the Reset button
. Use a paper clip to press and hold the Reset button
for 1 second to exit from Try-me mode. You will be asked to create a 4-digit passcode. Follow the instructions to input the new passcode, date and time for first time set up.
NOTE: Make sure the Diary Door is not blocked, otherwise, it cannot open.
Quick Operation Guide
When the diary is OFF, press the Mode button to turn it ON. You will be asked to enter the passcode to unlock it. After it unlocks, the date and time will show. Press the Record button
to record a voice note entry. Press the Playback button
to listen to the recorded diary entry. To access different modes, press the Mode button
to toggle between the modes. To scroll through the games, music albums or settings, press the selection buttons
and then press OK to confirm your choice.
NOTE: To ensure a good quality voice recording, speak closely to the microphone.
Battery Removal and Installation
- Make sure the unit is turned OFF.
- Locate the battery cover on the back of the unit. Use a screwdriver to loosen the screw and then slide to open the battery cover.
- If used batteries are present, remove these batteries from the unit by pulling up on one end of each battery.
- Install 3 new AA (LR6/AM-3) batteries following the diagram inside the battery box.(For best performance, alkaline batteries or fully charged Ni-MH rechargeable batteries are recommended).
- Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure it.
WARNING:
Adult assembly required for battery installation. \Keep batteries out of reach of children.
IMPORTANT: BATTERY INFORMATION
- Insert batteries with the correct polarity (+ and -).
- Do not mix old and new batteries.
- Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable batteries.
- Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used.
- Do not short-circuit the supply terminals.
- Remove batteries during long periods of non-use.
- Remove exhausted batteries from the toy.
- Dispose of batteries safely. Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES
- Remove rechargeable batteries from the toy before charging.
- Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision.
- Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.
Disposal of batteries and product
The crossed-out wheelie bin symbols on products and batteries, or on their respective packaging, indicates they must not be disposed of in domestic waste as they contain substances that can be damaging to the environment and human health.
- The chemical symbols Hg, Cd or Pb, where marked, indicate that the battery contains more than the specified value of mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd) or lead (Pb) set out in the Batteries and Accumulators Regulation.

Product Features
Customize Your Diary Cover
Use the included pre-cut paper crafts and stickers to create your own diary cover. Make a unique diary cover for your device! Open the transparent Cover Door by pulling up the small flap on the Cover Door. Arrange your paper craft and stickers on the Diary Door. Close the Cover Door properly to keep your papercraft and stickers in place.
Notebook Compartment and Notebook Replacement
In the Notebook Compartment, you can keep the notebook safe and protected with your own passcode.
When the included notebook is finished, you can replace it with a standard A6-size notebook. The recommended page count of the replacement notebook is 100 pages or less. There are two book holders to secure the notebook. Make sure the notebook has been inserted into the two bookholders
Secret Compartment
Store your items in the compartment to keep them secret.
NOTE: The Diary Cover cannot be opened when the diary is OFF.
Automatic Power-off
To preserve battery life, the diary will automatically power off after 1 minute without input. Except if it is playing music in Music mode. When the last track has played, it will stop playing and return to the Music Album Selection menu.
Battery Status
Shortly after the screen shows the Low Battery icon, the diary will automatically shut off. New batteries should be installed before further use.
Mode Button
- When the diary is OFF, press this button to turn it On and input the passcode to unlock the diary.
- After the diary is unlocked, press this button to toggle between different modes.
Number Buttons
- For entering the passcode to unlock the diary.
- For entering date or time.
- Input for gameplay.
OK Button
- Press to confirm the selections.
- To hear the date in Time Display Mode.
Selection Buttons
- To make selections.
Record Button
- Press to start recording, press again to stop recording.
Playback Button
- To playback the selected diary entry / music album.
- Hold this button to change the playback mode in My Diary.
- Playback one: Play one diary entry.
- Playback all: Play all diary entries.
Delete Button
- To delete the recorded diary entry or voice note.
Heart Button
- To mark the diary entry as a Favourite.
- Hold this button to toggle the selection mode of diary entries between search by date and search by Favourite.
Reset Button
- To clear the current passcode
Activities
Passcode Unlock
After you set the passcode for the device, every time you turn the diary on, you will need to enter your 4-digit passcode. Press the Number Buttons to input the passcode. If the passcode is correct, the Diary Cover will open. You can access different activities and also check your secret notebook and secret compartment inside the Diary Cover.
NOTE: Make sure the Diary Door is not blocked, otherwise, it cannot open.
Date & Time Display
Once the device is unlocked, you will be in the Date & Time Display mode. You will hear a greeting from Secret Safe Voice Note Diary.
If you set your birthday in Settings, you will have a birthday greeting when your birthday comes.
- Press OK to hear the date aloud.
- Press the Record Button
to start recording today’s voice diary entry.
- Press the Playback Button
to listen to latest recorded voice diary entry (if any).
- Press the Number Buttons to hear some positive phrases.
My Diary
Record and playback a diary voice note according to date, delete unwanted diary voice notes or mark as a Favourite for easy selection. Add an e-sticker to each diary voice note.
- Press the Record Button
to start recording your voice diary entry for the current date shown. Press the Record Button
again to stop recording, or it will stop when the recording time limit per entry is reached.Then, press the Selection Buttons to choose an e-sticker or press OK to save the diary entry without an e-sticker.
- Press the Playback Button
to listen to the selected diary entry.
- Press the Delete Button
to delete the selected diary entry, you will be asked to press the Delete Button
again to confirm the action.
- Press the Heart Button
to mark the selected diary entry as a Favourite. You will see a heart icon appear on the screen.
- To search the diary entries in Favourites, hold the Favourite Button
for 2 seconds to toggle between the two Selection modes
, Search by Favourite and Search by Date. In the Selection mode, Search by Favourite, press the
Selection buttonto go through the diary entries which are marked as Favourite.
- Press the Number Buttons to enter a date to quick search a diary entry from the input date.
- Hold the Playback Button
to change the playback mode between Playback One or Playback All diary entries.
NOTE:
- The diary recording time limit can be changed in Settings.
- Maximum number of voice notes per day: 10.
- The voice note files are not downloadable.
Creative Voice Studio
There are 3 recording slots for your creative recording; such as jokes, stories, to-do list, reminders, etc.
Press the Record Button to start recording, and press this button again to stop recording.
Press the Playback Button to listen to the voice file.
Press the Selection buttons to scroll through the recording places.
NOTE: The recorded voice storage of Creative Voice Studio is shared with My Diary.

Test your maths and memory skills by guessing a number according to the hint given! Press the Number buttons then press OK to enter your guess, to clear the last input digit, you can press the Delete Button.

When music is playing, press the Selection Buttons to go to the previous or next track. The device will not auto-power OFF until the last music in the album finishes

Troubleshooting
- Check this section if you experience difficulty operating the Secret Safe Voice Note Diary.
Problem | Possible Solutions |
The voice note recorded is low in volume | 1. Adjust the system volume higher, refer to the Setting / Volume section.
2. Make sure you speak closely into the microphone during the recording |
Cannot create new diary voice note | 1. The maximum number of diary voice notes per day is 10, if you already recorded 10 diary voice notes, you need to delete some entries to create a new diary voice note.

Program/activity stops working | You can follow these steps:
1. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries. 2. Let the diary stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries. 3. Press the Mode Button to turn the device ON. The diary should be ready to play with again. 4. If the diary still does not work, replace with a brand new set of batteries and repeat step 3. |
CARE & MAINTENANCE
- Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
- Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat source.
- Remove the batteries when the unit is not in use for an extended period of time.
- Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit to moisture or water.
