Product Usage Instructions

Assembling the Parts:

  1. Step 1:

  3. Vigorously shake the inhaler before every use.
  4. Connect the inhaler to the connecting ring on the inhalation chamber.
  5. Step 5 (only if using a mask): Attach the mask or mouthpiece securely.

Instructions for Cleaning:

Washing by Hand:

  1. Clean the parts before first use and then clean and disinfect once a week thereafter.
  2. Remove the one-handed operation aid from the chamber.
  3. A. Hand Washing:
    • Soak the part for 15 minutes in lukewarm water with liquid detergent. Agitate gently, then rinse in clear water.
    • Rinse the part in clean water and shake out any excess water.
    • Air dry thoroughly on a clean, lint-free cloth or drying rack before storing for future use.
  4. B. Dishwasher Cleaning:
    • Place the part in the top shelf of the dishwasher for cleaning.
    • Remove from the dishwasher, shake out excess water, and air dry as instructed above.

Disinfection: After cleaning, disinfect all parts by placing them in boiling water for 5 minutes. Dry as instructed above.

Vortex is indicated for use as a spacer/valved holding chamber for use in delivery of aerosol medication with metered dose inhalers.

ASSEMBLING THE PARTS

Step 1:

  • Push the one-handed operation aid onto the inhalation chamber from the back.

Step 2:

  • Remove the cap on the metered dose inhaler.
  • Shake the metered dose inhaler vigorously before every use.

Step 3:

  • Insert the metered dose inhaler in the connecting ring on the inhalation chamber.

Step 4:

  • Position the one-handed operation aid so that its round end encloses the metered dose inhaler. To do this, you may have to push the one-handed operation aid farther forwards or backwards.

Step 5 (only if using a mask):

Attach the mask (pediatric mask)

  • Take the protective cap off the mouthpiece of the VORTEX.
  • Attach the mask to the VORTEX mouthpiece.

Attach the mask (adult mask)

  • Take the protective cap off the mouthpiece of the VORTEX.
  • Fit the mask connector into the opening of the PARI adult mask soft.
  • Attach the mask to the mouthpiece of the VORTEX with the mask connector.

DISINFECTION: To disinfect after cleaning, place all parts in boiling water for 5 minutes. Dry as instructed above.
