Timer Mode
Press LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously. There are two types of timer modes and the system can be programmed to perform either one or the other, the factory setting is timed mode. In timed mode, the system allows you to keep the engine warm by automatically activating the remote start every three hours for a maximum of six starting cycles.
The temperature mode checks every three hours to see if the temperature threshold of 0°F has been met or exceeded. If met or exceeded, the vehicle then remote starts and runs for the programmed time and will check again three hours after shutting off. However, if the threshold isn’t met or exceeded, then the remote start does not activate, but will check again later after another three hours have elapsed.
Note: The timer mode features are activated and deactivated the same way, with the temperature mode automatically exiting after 18 hours.
To Activate:
1. Park the vehicle and set the parking brake. 2. Press the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously.
The parking lights flash slowly four times.
The remote start activates and runs for the set duration. The system remains remote started unless shut down by pressing the STAR button on the remote.
Once the remote start shuts down, the vehicle will start every three hours for a maximum of six cycles or until timer mode is canceled by turning on the ignition or activating any of the shut- downs (the parking lights flash slowly four times to confirm Timer Mode is exited).
To Deactivate:
Turn on the ignition or activate any of the remote start shutdowns (arming and disarming the system or pressing the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the remote will not exit the timer mode).
The parking lights flash four times confirming timer mode is exiting.
Note: The feature exits (if active) when the vehicle is driven, so if timer mode is desired, it needs to be activated again.
Short-run Turbo Mode
Press STAR and AUX buttons simultaneously. Short-run turbo mode keeps the engine running for a programmable period of time, after arriving at your destination (check with your Authorized Dealer for available options). This allows the system’s timer to conveniently cool down the turbo after you have left the vehicle.
To Activate:
1. Park the vehicle and set the parking brake. 2. Remove your foot from the brake pedal and leave the
engine running. 3. Press the STAR and AUX buttons simultaneously
The parking lights flash to indicate the remote start has entered the short-run turbo mode. 4. Turn the key to the off position and the engine will continue to run. 5. Exit and secure the vehicle. The engine will shut off after the programmed runtime expires.
Optional Rear Window Defogger
When the feature is programmed on, the rear defogger automatically activates during the remote start sequence if the temperature at the control module is below 55°F. If the temperature is greater than 55°F at the control module when the remote start is activated, the rear defogger does not turn on.
2-Way Remote Paging
Signal paging features
A page is the signal the control module sends to the remote control as confirmation of receipt of a command or alarm system status. When the remote control receives a page, it generates a page notification to the user (notifications are audible beeps andor vibration), and the LCD icons display current system status.
Command Page
When a command (arm/disarm, or auxiliary channel) from the remote control is sent and received, the system will send a command page back to confirm receipt.
Alarm Page
If the alarm system is triggered while armed, an Alarm Page will be sent to the remote control. When the remote receives an Alarm Page, the LCD icons will display the alarm system status information, and the remote control will generate beeps and-or vibration. An Alarm Page alert is a series of 5 groups of 4 rapid beeps (shock, trunk, door, ignition, or hood trigger) and the LCD icon that caused the alarm will display. The remote will beep and or vibrate every 60 seconds to alert the user that the alarm system was triggered and will continue until the alarm page is cleared.
Page Recognition (Acknowledgement)
To clear a page alert/notification, quickly press any button on the remote control. This can be performed at any time during or after the page notification has occurred. The remote control will not send a command to the system at this time; it will only clear future repeats of the page notification.
The next time a button is pressed on the remote control it will send a command to the system.
Out of range notification
If a command is issued from the remote, but the remote is set to the incorrect vehicle or is beyond the range of the vehicle to receive the command, the remote responds with 3 sets of 2 quick beeps and the transmit icon (#2) will flash 3-times.
Programming your 2-Way Remote
To enter programming mode: Press and hold the P button located on the side of the remote
control until one long beep sounds. You can now customize the remote’s response feedback. If no buttons are pressed within 5
seconds, programming mode is exited; the remote sounds 2
beeps.

Page notification
The 2-Way remote control can notify the user of a page by emitting beeps if the vehicle’s status changes, for example, if a door is unlocked, or any vehicle violation. On the 2-way remote, press STAR to select page ON/OFF. One beep is page ON. Two beeps is page OFF. When programmed off the remote does not give any notification that a page was received from the vehicle.
Page Notifications ON OFF
Response 1 beep 2 beeps
Note: If programmed OFF, the remote receives no notification of alarm triggers. The remote only receives command, such as arm or disarm, information.
Vehicle Select
If multiple cars are used with the system: Press P for 1-second and release (holding for too long enters programming mode) to select which vehicle is to be controlled by the remote control. Repeat this procedure to scroll to next vehicle selection.
Note: If a Warn Away or alarm trigger occurs in a vehicle not selected, remote control functions automatically switch to that specific vehicle and remains in this vehicle select state. The vehicle select procedure must be used to return to the previous vehicle selection.
Using Your System
Active arming
You can arm the system by pressing LOCK for one second. When the system arms you will hear a short siren sound or chirp, and the parking lights flash once. If the vehicle’s power door locks have been connected to the system, the doors lock. While the system is armed the status LED flashes once per second, indicating that the system is active and protecting your vehicle. If you hear a second chirp after arming and see the status LED flashing in groups, refer to the `Diagnostics’ section of this guide. This extra chirp is called `Bypass Notification’.
Passive arming
The system can be programmed to arm itself automatically, this is called passive arming. If the system is programmed for passive arming, it will automatically arm 30 seconds after the ignition is turned off and the system detects that you have left the vehicle by opening and closing a door.
Whenever the system is in its 30-second passive arming countdown, the status LED flashes twice as fast as it does when the system is armed. The siren chirps one time 20-seconds after the last door has been closed to indicate that the system is about to arm. At the 30-second point the parking lights flash to indicate that the system is armed.
If any protected entry point (such as a door or a switchprotected trunk or hood) is open, the system will not passively arm (unless forced passive arming is programmed ON. See `Programming Options’ section of this guide.) Additionally, if a door, hood or trunk is triggered during the arming countdown, the 30-second countdown starts over.
When the system is armed:
Light impacts trigger Warn Away. When triggered, the siren chirps and the parking lights flash for a few seconds.
Heavy impacts trigger a full alarm response. This consists of the siren sounding continuously and the parking lights flashing for a pre-programmed period, which can range in duration from 1 to 180 seconds.
If a door is opened, the system will immediately start chirping the siren and flash the parking lights. Three seconds later, the siren output changes to a continuous blast. This progressive response gives you time to disarm the system with your remote if you inadvertently open the door while the system is armed.
Turning on the ignition will trip the same progressive response as opening a door.
The optional starter interrupt prevents the vehicle from starting.
Multi-level Security Arming
Multi-Level Security Arming allows you to select which of the security system’s inputs or sensors are active or are bypassed when the system is armed (See the Table of Zones section). Press LOCK one time to arm the system, siren chirps one time.
Pressing LOCK again activates Multi-Level Security Arming.
Each time LOCK is pressed consecutively, a different security level is selected, as described in the below table:
Press LOCK Twice 3 times 4 times 5 times
Siren chirps
Zone bypassed
Twice followed by 2 1 long chirp
3 times followed 4 by 1 long chirp
4 times followed 2 & 4 by 1 long chirp
5 times followed All zones except
by 1 long chirp
5
Each press of the LOCK button ascends to the next security level.
Multi-Level Security Arming applies to a single arming cycle. Once the system is disarmed and then re-armed, all the zones will be active again.
Arming While Driving
Your system can be armed while driving the vehicle. Press LOCK on your transmitter for two seconds while the vehicle is running or while the ignition is on. The siren chirps once, and then once more indicating that the ignition is on. The security system does not respond to any input except the door triggers and the starter interrupt (if installed) will not activate. The security system disarms automatically when the ignition is turned off. The siren chirps twice and the LED stops flashing.
Note: If programmed for the optional Vehicle Recovery System (VRS) feature, arming with the transmitter activates the VRS feature. (See VRS section of this guide.)
Disarming
To disarm the system, press LOCK. You will hear two chirps, and the parking lights will flash twice. If the power locks are connected to the system, the doors will unlock. If the siren chirps either four or five times when disarming, refer to the Diagnostics section of this guide. This is called Tamper Alert.
High Security Disarm
High Security Disarm makes it possible to silence and reset the system when it is triggering, without disarming. If the system is triggered, and the siren sounds for longer than six seconds, pressing LOCK will stop the trigger and return the system to an armed state. The system does not disarm, but rather reset.
This prevents you from disabling the system should you want to disarm without visually checking the vehicle. Pressing UNLOCK after resetting the system will disarm the system. Pressing UNLOCK during the first six seconds of the triggered sequence disarms the system immediately. The six second timer is provided for your convenience; in case you accidentally trigger the system.
Disarming Without Your Remote
This feature allows you to disarm the security system without the
remote control, should it be lost, damaged, or disabled. To disarm the system without a remote, you must have the vehicle’s factory key and know where the Valet button is located. Be sure to check
with the installer for the location and the number of presses of
the Valet button required to disarm the system.
To disarm the security system:
1. Turn the ignition to the ON position. 2. Press and release the Valet button the preset number of
times (1-5 times, 1 is the default setting) within 15 seconds.
After five seconds the system disarms. If the system does not
disarm, you may have waited too long. Turn the ignition off and on
and try again.
Location of Valet Button
.
Number of Pulses
.
The unit responds to one to five pulses of the Valet button when disarming. Check with your installer to discuss how you want the
system configured.
Note: As a precaution, if programmed for passive arming the system should be placed into Valet Mode until a remote is available.
Dome Light Control
Security only
The dome light activates for 30 – seconds after the system is disarmed.
Ignition controlled
The dome light activates for 30 – seconds after the ignition is turned OFF. This feature can be programed ON or OFF, by the dealer.
Silent Mode
To temporarily turn off the arm or disarm chirps, use Silent Mode.
Press AUX for less than one second before arming or disarming, and the confirmation chirp(s) will be eliminated for that one operation only. If you want the arm/disarm chirps turned off permanently, your dealer can do this for you.
The Warn Away response to lighter impacts is bypassed if the system is armed using Silent Mode. This ensures that no chirps will be emitted by the siren in an area you want chirp-free. The system is still capable of a full alarm response, but the Warn Away response is bypassed.
Panic Mode
If you are threatened in or near your vehicle, you can attract attention by triggering the system with your remote.
Hold LOCK for approximately two seconds, to enter Panic Mode. The siren sounds and the parking lights flash for the programmed siren duration. To stop Panic Mode at any time, press the LOCK.
Valet Modes
Remote Valet (Alarm Valet)
Valet mode can be entered and exited by performing the Remote Valet command or manually using the vehicle key and the control button. When entered, the alarm functions are disabled while the convenience features still operate normally. Arm and Disarm commands lock and unlock the doors.
To enter or exit Valet Mode with the remote: Open any vehicle door, and then quickly press the following buttons in the sequence indicated.
1. Press LOCK. 2. Press UNLOCK. 3. Press LOCK again.
The status LED lights solidly if you are entering Valet Mode and goes out if you are exiting Valet Mode.
Garage Mode (Remote Start Valet)
Disabling the Remote Start System/Garage Mode Garage Mode is a safety feature that disables the remote start system if the vehicle is parked in a garage, being serviced, or used by someone unfamiliar with remote start systems.
When Garage Mode is ON, any attempt to start the engine, activate Timer Mode, or enter Pit Stop mode is denied and remote start diagnostics flashes the parking lights nine times.
Turn Garage Mode ON or OFF:
1. Turn the ignition ON then OFF. 2. Within 10 seconds, press and release the Control Center
button once. 3. The Control Center LED turns on.
The parking lights flash: · Nine times quickly when turning on. · Nine times slowly when turning off
Remote Start
This feature allows you to remotely start and run your vehicle for a programmable period of time. This makes it possible to warm up the engine, as well as adjust the interior temperature of the vehicle with the climate control system. If interior heating or cooling is desired, the climate controls must be preset, and the fan blower must be set to the desired level prior to remote starting the vehicle.
Warning! (1) Never remote start your vehicle when the keys are in the ignition, except when performing Pit Stop mode, and (2) Never start the vehicle if it is not in PARK or NEUTRAL. (3) Do not activate the remote start if the vehicle has a manual transmission.
To remote start the vehicle:
Ensure the parking brake is set, press STAR on the remote control once (or the amount of times the system has been programmed to activate the remote start).
The parking lights flash to confirm that the vehicle will attempt to start. With gas vehicles the engine starts four seconds after the parking lights flash. With diesel vehicles the engine starts when the WAIT-TO-START indicator on the dashboard goes out or the programmed delay has ended.
Once the vehicle has started, it runs for the pre-programmed period of time (either 12, 24, or 60 minutes; See Programming Options section) or until a shutdown input is triggered.
Warning! It is unsafe to operate a vehicle’s motor in a garage or other closed off area. Breathing the exhaust from the vehicle is hazardous to your health. Never activate the remote start in an enclosed space.
When you are ready to drive the vehicle:
1. Turn the ignition ON. 2. Press the brake pedal. 3. Disengage the parking brake. 4. Place the vehicle in gear and drive to your destination.
Note: If the brake pedal is pressed or the parking brake is disengaged before the key is in the ON position, the engine will shut down.
While the vehicle is running during remote start operation, the system monitors the vehicle and automatically shuts down the engine if the system receives any of the following:
· The brake pedal is pressed · The hood is opened · The shutdown toggle switch is put into the Off position · The parking brake is disengaged · Runtime (12, 24, or 60 minutes) expires · The remote start activation procedure from the remote
is repeated.
Pit Stop Mode
Pit Stop mode allows the vehicle to remain running after the key has been removed from the vehicle. This feature is useful for occasions when you wish to exit and lock the vehicle for short periods of time, but would like to leave the motor running and the climate controls on.
To perform Pit Stop mode: 1. Before turning off the engine, ensure that the parking brake is set. 2. Press and release STAR on the remote the number of times the system has been programmed to activate the remote start (or press and release the optional momentary switch). Then wait five seconds. 3. Turn the ignition key to the OFF position, the engine will continue running. 4. Exit and secure the vehicle.
When returning to the vehicle simply disarm the system and follow the previous “When you are ready to drive the vehicle” information.
Note: If you are away from the vehicle for an extended amount of time, the remote start will shut off after the programmed runtime expires or when a shutdown input is received (see the Remote Start section for a complete list of shutdown inputs).
This feature will not work if the brake pedal is being pressed or the parking brake is disengaged.
Nuisance Prevention Circuitry
Your system has Nuisance Prevention Circuitry (NPC). It prevents annoying repetitive trigger sequences due to faulty door pin switches or environmental conditions such as thunder, jackhammers, or airport noise.
For example, if the alarm triggers three times within a 60-minute period and each time the same sensor or switch triggers the alarm, NPC will interpret those triggers as false alarms. After the third trigger, NPC ignores, or bypasses that sensor or switch (along with any other sensors or switches sharing the same zone) for 60-minutes.
If the bypassed sensor tries to trigger the system while it is being bypassed, the 60-minute bypass period starts over. This ensures that a sensor that continually triggers will remain bypassed. Doors are covered by NPC differently; if the alarm is triggered by an open door for three full cycles, the doors are bypassed until the trigger ceases.
NPC is ON/OFF programmable, except doors are always covered whether on or off. See your dealer and the `Programming’ section of this guide for more information.
Arming and disarming the system does not reset this function. To reset a bypassed zone, the same zone must not trigger for 60 minutes, or when ignition is turned on. When testing your system, it is important to remember that the NPC programming can cause zones to be bypassed and appear to stop working. If five chirps are heard when disarming, NPC has been engaged. If you wish to clear the NPC memory, turn the ignition key on.
Diagnostics
This security system is constantly monitoring all the switches and sensors that are connected to it. It detects any faulty switches and sensors and prevents them from disabling the entire system. The system will also record and report any triggers that occurred during your absence.
Refer to the `System Status Chirps’ and `Table of Zones’ charts for diagnostic information.
Arming Diagnostics
If the system is armed while an input is active, the unit chirps once when arming and then one more time a few seconds later. This is called Bypass Notification.
Bypass Notification does not occur when using Silent Mode or if chirps have been programmed OFF. The security system continually ignores the zone that was active until the input stops.
Three seconds after the input stops, the system monitors that input normally.
For example, if your vehicle has interior light exit delay and you arm it before the interior light goes out, you may hear Bypass Notification chirps. Once the light shuts off, the doors are monitored normally.
Disarming Diagnostics
Extra disarm chirps are known as Tamper Alerts. If four chirps are heard when disarming, the system was triggered in your absence. If five chirps are heard, a zone was triggered repeatedly, and the Nuisance Prevention Circuitry bypassed that zone (see NPC section of this guide).
The in-vehicle status LED indicates which zone was involved. (See `Table of Zones’ section of this guide.) The system retains this information in its memory and continues to chirp four or five times each time it is disarmed, until the next time the ignition is turned on.
System Status Chirps
The siren chirps when arming and disarming the system. The pattern of chirps audibly reports the system’s status as described below.

Interpreting Zone Diagnostics
Warn Away responses are not reported by arming or disarming diagnostics. If you receive a Bypass notification when arming or a Tamper Alert notification when disarming, look at the in-vehicle status LED. Active or triggered zones will be indicated by a pattern of blinks by this LED.
For example: If Zone 3 (door) was active or triggered, the invehicle LED will blink three times with a two-second pause. Then it will blink three times again and repeat until the ignition is turned on.
If your system has been triggered but the LED has been reset by turning on the ignition, your dealer can still recall the last zones that were triggered. Contact your dealer for details.
Code Hopping
The receiver and transmitters each use algorithms to change their codes each time the transmitter is used. This technology has been developed to increase the security of the system. The system knows what the next codes should be. This helps to keep the transmitter “in sync” with the control unit even if you use the remote control out of range of the vehicle. However, if the transmitter has been pressed many times out of range of the vehicle, or if the battery has been removed, it may get out of sync with the control unit and fail to operate the system. To re-sync the remote control, simply press LOCK several times within range of the vehicle. The alarm will automatically re-sync and respond to the transmitters normally.
Rapid Resume Logic
If system power is lost and then reconnected, the system will recall the stored state from memory.
This means if the unit is in Valet Mode and the battery is disconnected for any reason, such as servicing the car, when the battery is reconnected, the unit will still be in Valet Mode. This applies to all states of the system including Armed, Disarmed, and Valet Mode.
Power Saver Mode
Your system will automatically enter Power Saver Mode while armed or in Valet Mode, after a period of time in which no operation has been performed. This lowers the current draw to the vehicle’s battery. Power Saver Mode takes over under the following conditions:
· Power Saver when the system is armed: After the system has been armed for 24 hours, the in-vehicle LED will flash at half its normal rate, decreasing the system’s current draw.
· Power Saver in Valet Mode: When the system enters Valet Mode the in-vehicle LED illuminates steadily. If the vehicle is not used (ignition is not turned on) for a period of one hour while the system is in Valet Mode, the LED will shut off. If the system remains in Valet Mode, the LED will come back on the next time the ignition is turned on and then back off.
Warning! Safety First Please read the safety warnings below before proceeding. Improper use of the product may be dangerous or illegal.
Installation Due to the complexity of this system, installation of this product must only be performed by an Authorized Dealer. If you have any questions, ask your Authorized Dealer or contact Customer Service at 1-800-753-0600.
Remote Start Notice When properly installed, this system can start the vehicle via a command signal from the remote control transmitter. Therefore, never operate the system in an enclosed area or partially enclosed area without ventilation (such as a garage). When parking in an enclosed or partially enclosed area or when having the vehicle serviced, the remote start system must be disabled using `Garage Mode’. It is the user’s sole responsibility to properly handle and keep out of reach from children all remote control transmitters to assure that the system does not unintentionally remote start the vehicle. THE USER MUST INSTALL A CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTOR IN OR ABOUT THE LIVING AREA ADJACENT TO THE VEHICLE. ALL DOORS LEADING FROM ADJACENT LIVING AREAS TO THE ENCLOSED OR PARTIALLY ENCLOSED VEHICLE STORAGE AREA MUST AT ALL TIMES REMAIN CLOSED. These precautions are the sole responsibility of the user.
