PRODUCT USAGE INSTRUCTIONS

Step by Step

  1. Create a word search in the squares on the field with one letter per square. You can use this layout provided above, or create your own with the word bank below!VEX-Robotics-Vex-Aim-Coding-Robot-FIG-2
  2. Place the robot anywhere on the field, facing any direction.
  3. Drive the robot to drive over and find words on the field. Use this to help you plan your path for coding the robot to locate words. Words may appear horizontally or vertically.
  4. Code the robot to drive over each found tech word following your planned path.
    • Play a sound when the robot reaches the first letter of a word.
    • Play a different sound when the robot reaches the last letter of a word to indicate that the word is complete, and then display it on the robot’s screen.

LEVEL UP

  • Remix! – Reorder the letters on the field and create a new word search.
  • Timed Search – Use the Console and print the time it takes for the robot to locate all 7 words in the word search. How can you shorten your time?

Pro Tip

Use comments to mark the sections of code for each word! This will help keep your project organized and make it easier to debug or adjust later.

Standards: CSTA 1B-AP-10: Create programs that include sequences, events, loops, and conditionals.
