Troubleshooting
- Transmitter battery low: If the mode indicator on the transmitter flashes, charge the transmitter using the Type-C charger (charging indicator red = charging; green = full). Turn off and disconnect the transmitter from wires/cables before charging.
- Receiver battery low: If the mode indicator on the receiver flashes, replace the receiver battery (turn off the receiver first; replace with the same type and correct polarity).
- No/weak signal during detection: Verify both transmitter and receiver are functioning by moving the receiver close to the transmitter and checking audible/visual signals. If needed, adjust receiver sensitivity during detection.
- Noise interference: Use headphones to help trace in noisy environments.
- Detection blind area near adjacent wires: If the buried depth of the tested wire is greater than the distance between adjacent wires, adjacent wire signals may be used as the “tested” wire; consider this test blind area when interpreting results.
- Signal blocking: Shoes with poor insulation may connect the body to ground and block some signals; wear shoes with good insulation performance during detection.

- Automatic power-off for the transmitter
- Illumination function
- Low battery indication
- Headphone jack
SAFETY WARNING
- To avoid and prevent electric shock, burns, or personal injury, please read this manual carefully.
- To avoid electric shock, do not touch any naked conductor with your hand or skin, and do not ground yourself while using the instrument. Keep this instrument dry. Do not use this instrument in rain.
- Do not use the instrument if it is damaged or operates abnormally. Inspect the test leads for damaged insulation or exposed metal. If a test lead is damaged, replace it with a new one of the same ratings before use.
- Do not use this instrument to detect energised wires.
- Before opening the transmitter’s or receiver’s battery compartment, turn off the transmitter or receiver and disconnect the connecting leads from any wire, cable or conductor.
- Never connect the transmitter to any live wire/ cable/ conductor. The instrument does not have any user-serviceable electronic component. Do not attempt to service the instrument.
- Do not touch any line known to be or suspected of carrying electrical power.
- Do not operate the instrument where explosive gas, vapour, or dust is present.
- Use caution when working with voltage above 30V ac rms, 42V ac peak, or 60V dc. Such voltages pose a shock hazard.
- Adhere to local and national safety codes. Individual protective equipment must be used to prevent shock and arc blast injury where hazardous live conductors are exposed.
- Caution should always be used when nailing, digging, or drilling in an area where there may be buried pipe or cable.
- Before working near an electrical wire, turn off the wire’s power first. To avoid interference, do not use the instrument where there is an intense environmental electromagnetic field; otherwise, the detection or measurement result may be wrong.

OPERATION INSTRUCTION
Tracking Wires
Warning
- Only trace non-energised wires.
- Don’t touch any live conductor with your hand or skin to avoid electric shock.
- Always disconnect power to the circuit to be traced before using the Wire Tracker.
This instrument offers two modes for wire tracking: digital wire tracking mode and analogue wire tracking mode.
- Digital wire tracking mode uses high-frequency signals for line search, offering good penetration and minimal signal attenuation. It is primarily used for detecting underground or in-wall wires and is less susceptible to interference.
- Analogue wire tracking mode uses low-frequency signals for line search, providing a wider signal frequency reception range but less penetration. It is mainly used for surface or overhead wire detection.
Operation method:
- As shown in Figure 3, connect the red alligator clip of the transmitter to the wire to be traced and the black alligator clip to the ground (such as using the grounding nail accessory).

- Turn on the transmitter, and then pull the function toggle switch to the “DIGITAL” or “ANALOG” position for the digital or analogue transmission function. The corresponding indicator will light up as an indication, and the transmitter starts to work.
- Adjust the signal strength from the transmitter using the signal strength up and down buttons to adapt to the actual environment.
- Turn on the receiver. Then press the mode switch button to set the receiver to the same mode as the transmitter. The mode indicator of the receiver will light up in the corresponding colour, with blue indicating the digital wire tracking mode and green indicating the analogue wire tracking mode.
- Turn the sensitivity knob on the receiver to appropriately adjust the receiver’s sensitivity.
- Move the receiver close to the transmitter and check for the audible and visual signals. This verifies that both the receiver and the transmitter are functioning correctly.
- Slowly move the receiver’s probe from the transmitter towards the far end of the wire to be traced. By comparing the audible and visual signals emitted by the receiver, the wire with the loudest sound, brightest received signal strength indicator and most lit received signal level indicators when approaching the probe is the one to be traced.
Note:- If necessary, adjust the sensitivity of the receiver according to the actual condition during detection.
- In noisy environments, you can use headphones to help trace the wire.
Continuity Test
Warning
- Only test non-energised lines.
- Don’t touch any live conductor with your hand or skin to avoid electric shock.
- Always disconnect power to the circuit to be tested before using the Wire Tracker.
There are two ways to detect the connectivity of lines:
- Only Using the Transmitter for Detection:
- Turn on the transmitter, and then pull the function toggle switch to the “CONT” position for the continuity test function. The continuity test indicator will light up.
- As shown in Figure 4, connect the red and black alligator clips of the transmitter to the two ends of the line to be tested.
- If the impedance indicator lights up, it means the wire is continuous. The smaller the line impedance is, the more the indicator LEDs are on.
Tip: If the impedance is more than 800 Ω, it is considered that the line is discontinuous; if it is less than 800Ω, for every 100Ω less, one more indicator LED will light up.
- Using the Wire Tracking Method:
The operation method is the same as that of the wire tracking function. If the receiver detects the signal at the other outer end of the wire to be tested, it indicates a continuous line.
ATTENTION
- Test Blind Area
If the buried depth of the tested wire is greater than the distance between adjacent wires, the adjacent wire may be used as the buried wire to be tested. There is a test blind area in this wire tracker, as shown in Figure 5:
- High Voltage Protection
The transmitter signal output terminal is connected to a voltage protection circuit higher than 51 V AC. When the transmitter signal output terminal is wrongly connected to 220V AC high voltage, the circuit high voltage protection will be triggered, and the circuit will be disconnected, so as to achieve the purpose of protection. - Signal Blocking
Shoes with poor insulation performance will cause the human body to connect to the ground, which results in the blocking of some signals. Please make sure to wear shoes with good insulation performance during detection.

BATTERY CHARGING/REPLACEMENT
Charging the Battery in the Transmitter
- When the mode indicator ( digital wire tracking indicator, analogue wire tracking indicator or continuity test indicator ) on the transmitter flashes, the transmitter’s battery is not charged enough. Please connect the Type-C charger to charge the transmitter in time, or else the transmitter will not function properly, and the detection results may be wrong.
- When the transmitter is undercharged, the charging indicator lights red; when it is fully charged, the charging indicator lights green.
Warning:
To avoid electric shock, turn off the transmitter and then disconnect the transmitter from any wire or cable before charging the transmitter’s battery.
Replacing the Battery in the Receiver
- When the mode indicator on the receiver flashes, the battery in the receiver is not charged enough, and you must replace it immediately; otherwise, the receiver will not operate normally, or the detection result may be wrong.
- To replace the battery, turn off the receiver first. Remove the screw on the battery cover and then remove the battery cover. Replace the old battery with a new one of the same type; make sure that the polarity connections are correct. Reinstall the battery cover and the screw.
Warning:
If you do not use the receiver for a long period of time, remove the battery from the receiver to avoid corrosion.
MAINTENANCE
Warning
The instrument is not waterproof. Do not let water or any liquid enter the case. Before cleaning the instrument, turn off the instrument and disconnect the instrument from any wire/cable.
