2. Safety Instructions

Installation and removal of the unit and its accessories must be carried out by qualified personnel. You must read all of the safety instructions before installation and operation.

2.1 Precautions
Use a power adapter or a PoE device that meets requirements. Otherwise, the device may be damaged.
Be careful not to blur, scratch, damage the dome cover or leave fingerprints on it because this could decrease image quality. Keep the protective film on the dome cover until installation is complete.
Make sure the length of the power cable between the power adapter and the camera is not too long, otherwise the voltage of the camera is lowered, causing the camera to work abnormally. If it is required to lengthen the power cable, lengthen the cable between the power adapter and the mains.

3

Do not overbend the cables during the installation, otherwise, poor cable contact may cause malfunction.
When connecting to an external interface, use an existing connection terminal, and ensure that the cable terminal (latch or clamp) is in good condition and properly fastened. Ensure that the cable is not tense during mounting, with a proper margin reserved to avoid poor port contact or loosening caused by shock or shake.
During transportation, special attention is required to protect the transparent dome cover from friction, scratch and stain, etc. Do not remove the protective film from the cover until mounting is finished. Remove the protective film before powering on the device.
Make sure the wall or ceiling is strong enough to support the weight of the camera. If dust falls during mounting, take off the dome cover and keep it away from dust. Install the dome cover after the base is installed.
Contact professionals for maintenance information. Do not attempt to dismantle the device by yourself. We shall not assume any responsibility for problems caused by unauthorized repair or maintenance.
2.2 Maintenance
If there is dust on the front glass surface, remove the dust gently using an oil-free brush or a rubber dust blowing ball.
If there is grease or a dust stain on the front glass surface, clean the glass surface gently from the center outward using anti-static gloves or an oil-free cloth. If the grease or the stain still remains, use anti-static gloves or an oil-free cloth dipped with detergent and clean the glass surface gently until it is clean.
Do not use organic solvents (such as benzene and alcohol) to clean the transparent dome cover.

4. Mount Your Camera
The following part takes ceiling mount as an example. Wall mount is similar to ceiling mount and therefore is omitted here. The figures are for your reference only. Type A and Type B
1. Locate the holes, drill holes on the ceiling, and then mount the plastic rivets of self-tapping screws. See template for right direction of logo and tail cable.
1 (1) Paste the drill template and lead the cables through the hole. Use a Ø6mm-6.5mm drill bit to drill 30 mm-depth guide holes according to the template.
2 (2) Knock the plastic rivets into the guide holes and ensure that they are tightened up.
2. Install network cable (for cameras without cable).
(1) Push the network cable head into the tapered sleeve.
(2) Cut a hole on the waterproof rubber stopper, and insert the network cable head through the opening.
(3) Remove the tapered sleeve. (4) Connect the network cable to the
network interface, and attach the rubber stopper to the interface for water proofing. Pull the cable downward to make sure that the rubber stopper protrudes to a direction opposite to the network cable head.
8

3. Mount your camera.

(1) Connect all cables of the ceiling and your camera.
(2) Lead self-tapping screws through the guide holes in the camera base, and secure your camera on the ceiling by using a screwdriver

4. Adjust the shooting direction of the lens. Tighten the screws after vertically adjusting the lens.
Lens base 1 Rotate the lens base
horizontally.
Fastening screw 2 Loosen the fastening
screws and rotate the lens vertically.
Lens 3 Rotate the lens horizontally.
Note: The above steps are only applied to the camera with manual zoom lens. For how to adjust the display of the camera with motorized zoom lens, please see the Web of the camera.
9

5. Mount the transparent dome cover. Align the screw holes in the base and tighten the three torx screws on the edge of the transparent dome cover to fix it
Align th the bas three to edge of dome c
NOTE! The preceding installation process is concealed installation, during which holes
are drilled in the ceiling and tail cable is led out from the top of your camera. Cables are connected and frapped at the ceiling side to prevent messy cables from affecting camera mounting. If open installation is adopted, tail cable is led out from one side of your camera and can be routed from the side groove of your camera. After mounting the dome cover, check that the torx screws on the edge of the dome cover are tightened up to ensure that your camera is properly sealed. For details, see Mount the transparent dome cover.
10

Type C

1. Locate the positions of the holes and drill holes on the ceiling.

(1) Paste the drill template. (2) Use a Ø 6mm or 6.5mm drill bit to drill
30mm-depth guide holes on the wall. (3) Knock plastic expansion tubes into the
holes. (4) Lead out the external cables as indicated
by the arrow marked on the template.

2. Use a hex L-key to loosen the screws to separate the dome cover from the base.

3. Fix the camera to the ceiling using self-tapping screws.

11

4. Adjust the shooting angle of the lens.

5. Reinstall the transparent dome cover.
Align the screw holes in the base and insert the screws through the dome cover into the base, and then tighten the screws.

Note:
For cameras with a light-blocking rubber ring, do not touch the rubber ring during installation. When clean the light-blocking rubber ring or the dome, use a dust blower, or gently wipe with a lint-free cloth dampened in a cleaning solution specifically designd for optical or electronic equipment. Do not use solvents containing alcohol or other corrosive components.

5. Startup
After the cable connection is complete, connect the device to the mains supply to start it up.
6. Web Login

Network Security
Please take all necessary measures to enhance network security for your device. The following are necessary measures for the network security of your device:
14

Change default password and set strong password: You are strongly recommended to change the default password after your first login and set a strong password of at least nine characters including all three elements: digits, letters and special characters.
Keep firmware up to date: It is recommended that your device is always upgraded to the latest version for the latest functions and better security. Visit Uniview’s official website or contact your local dealer for the latest firmware.
The following are recommendations for enhancing network security of your device: Change password regularly: Change your device password on a regular basis and keep the
password safe. Make sure only the authorized user can log in to the device. Enable HTTPS/SSL: Use SSL certificate to encrypt HTTP communications and ensure data
security. Enable IP address filtering: Allow access only from the specified IP addresses. Minimum port mapping: Configure your router or firewall to open a minimum set of ports to
the WAN and keep only the necessary port mappings. Never set the device as the DMZ host or configure a full cone NAT. Disable the automatic login and save password features: If multiple users have access to your computer, it is recommended that you disable these features to prevent unauthorized access. Choose username and password discretely: Avoid using the username and password of your social media, bank, email account, etc, as the username and password of your device, in case your social media, bank and email account information is leaked. Restrict user permissions: If more than one user needs access to your system, make sure each user is granted only the necessary permissions. Disable UPnP: When UPnP is enabled, the router will automatically map internal ports, and the system will automatically forward port data, which results in the risks of data leakage. Therefore, it is recommended to disable UPnP if HTTP and TCP port mapping have been enabled manually on your router. SNMP: Disable SNMP if you do not use it. If you do use it, then SNMPv3 is recommended. Multicast: Multicast is intended to transmit video to multiple devices. If you do not use this function, it is recommended you disable multicast on your network. Check logs: Check your device logs regularly to detect unauthorized access or abnormal operations. Physical protection: Keep the device in a locked room or cabinet to prevent unauthorized physical access. Isolate video surveillance network: Isolating your video surveillance network with other service networks helps prevent unauthorized access to devices in your security system from other service networks.
